Play 7 Batsmen & 4 Bowlers
by vinod on Feb 14, 2007 11:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think Indian Team should play with 7 Batsmen Including WK. Then only they will have depth in the Batting Order,
Our Team should realise that Cricket is a Mind game, we should go for a Kill & be ruthless in the field

In an team 4 good batsman are enough. That should leave place for 3 seamers and 3 Sopinnres one genuine Wk.If the team is crowded with more batsman it does not mean they will put up a good score. If one batsman can fail 7 tioo can fail. The tean should be balanced and not loaded with Batsman.

When 6 batsmen can not deliver the 7th can not.Vary rarely like the win in England occurs. Also the gap between the 7 th batsman and the tail would be high to spoil the balance.

BUT DO WE HAVE THIS MR. VINOD, I DONT THINK WE HAVE IT.
I SEE THAT ONLY IN DHONI AND KAARTHIK . OTHER GUYS JUST PLAY FOR NUMBERS.CRICKET IS IN MIND , BUT OUR GUYS HAVE ONLY ENDORSMENTS IN MIND. TRUST ME GUYS THIS WAS WORST AND I FEEL BAD FOR ROMESH POWAR.
THIS TIME SOUTH AFRICA WILL LIFT THE WORLD CUP.
WE MAY NOT BE THERE IN SEMIS THIS TIME.

Resting Carousal
by prash k on Feb 14, 2007 11:00 AM  Permalink

Doesn%u2019t make any sense as to where it is making its stops as you rightly mentioned. If these are tuning games to get players ready to perform when the opportunity comes at WC, shouldn%u2019t they be playing Uthappa who needs a big knock at these levels to get some confidence and Sreesanth who needs to establish his length though he did reasonably well in the last match?

The wicket seems to be shaping up to be a batting surface now, it remains to be seen if Sri lanka can accelerate after the current consolidation face. Interesting to see DPMD trying to get some runs on the board after the recent batting struggles, he is one guy who needs some time in the middle from a SL point of view.

I would like to see some runs on the board, see if our guys can respond when its time for them to pad up.

Fielding standards
by contact contact on Feb 14, 2007 10:59 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Yoy will bring change by introducing latest technology on the field but how about attitutde towards fielding?

Telling you frankly, in india, batting and bowling are unduly hyped and revered, leaving little respect for fielding and good fielders unlike our foreign counterparts.

All the more reason to have him as his belly movements would confuse the hell out of the likes of Ponting and Gilchrist

No need to get complacent. Infact, its like a deja vu for me. Srilanka is only 3 wickets down not all out.Lets hope india carry on the good work for rest of the day and not throw in the towel at last moment.

IT SEEMS LIKE INDIAN TEAM IS DOING THEIR PREPARATION - LAST MINUTE REVISION (LMR) FOR THE WORLD CUP SQUAD .

NO LIKELY CHANGES / VERY FEW ADDITION IN LAST 4 YEARS .

SAME OLD TEAM CONTINUED IN WC 2007

Munaf, Sreesanth, and Uthappa were school students in last WC. They ARE the results of the experimentation. A disciplined and hungry Dada is also the result of that experimentation.

Opening slot!
by JAYANTKUMAR MAJITHIA on Feb 14, 2007 10:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think our old timers SACHIN/GANGULY are both in form and thus we should again try for opening slot. They were one time one of the best opening combination.we should give it a try atleast in the current series.
