perfect 11 Indians for the world cup
by sumangalicadambi raman on Feb 14, 2007 12:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sir,

I am giving the best 11 for the world cup:

1) Virender Schweg - Opener (all rounder)
2) Saurav Ganguly - Opener (all rounder)
3) Robin Uthapa - 1 down
4) Sachin Tendulkar - 2 down (all rounder)
5) Rahul Dravid - 3 down (Wicket Keeper)
6) Yuvaraj Singh - 4 down (all rounder)
7) Irfan Pathan - 5 down ( all rounder)
8) Zaheer Khan - 6 down ( all rounder)
9) Ajit Agarkar - 7 down ( all rounder)
10)Harbajan Singh- 8 down(all rounder)
11)Munaf Patel - 9 down (pace bowler)

You can there are 8 all rounders in the above.
If they practice batting as well as bowling well, we can have no problems.
Why Australia, England, Pakistan,West Indies, New Zealand, and Srilanka are giving fight till
the end because they are very good in fielding,
bowling and then only batting. If you take
Australian team, Mcgrath,Bret Lee,Clarke,Hogg,
Bracken, they bowl well to all out the opponents to see that their team wins. Then it
is very easy to bat for Hayden,Gilchrist,Ponting,Symonds and others to
chase the run very easily. Take
West Indies, Chris Gayle,Brian Lara,Chandrapaul,
Marlon samuels play well. If you take any side
there are only 4 or 5 batsman play well. But bowlers win matches. Moreover they are all very
good fielding side when compared to India.
I am very sorry to say that there are only few
Players who field well for India. Take Pakistan, they are also same like our side, they
got 7 good batsmen including all rounders, and
four best bowlers to win matches for their side. They are a very good fielding side than
India. We have to
improve a lot in fielding as well as we have to
rotate the strike always instead of waiting and hitting for fours and sixes. When others are taking two for the throw, we should also run fast for the 1st run and go for the 2nd run quickly.

If you take into consideration of all
these, definitely I can say that our Indian Team
will play well and win World cup.

Tku very much for the opportunity given to me
in writing this message to the Board.

You may also publish this issue in Hindu columns
pls.

Worst player of the year
by ni sah on Feb 14, 2007 11:59 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sehwag is the worst player of the year donot know why selector are still taking him for the world cup. is there any case of bribe for taking sehwag in team as i think this is 100% case of bribery to take him for the world cup. I am confident about this that if i paly in place of sehwag i can play better they why they donot give chance to other.

From the current team Harbhajan should be excluded. He has not been good with bowl & with bat he is the worst tail ever. Sehwag should be allowed the liberty to play like galli cricket and accept anything from 0-100-150-200. Dhoni has to b in.

Dilshan
by raj nair on Feb 14, 2007 11:58 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sri Lanka has many talaneted and dangerous players like sanath, sangakara, jayawardane etc and the list goes on and on.However we also need to tackle one player who can simply FRUSTRATE any opposition team captain...tats T.Dilshan...I have been watching him closely for the past 14 mnths and believe me hez a complete utility player for ODI's...He might be techinically the best...or the dangerous hitter of the ball...But his deft strokes, running between the wickets, cheeky shots,"never-gift-ur-wicket" attitude and sharp fielding can simply frustrtate any opposition team...And he has done that in all parts of the world...Watch out for him as well in the lankan brigade....!!!

Sam,
Get ur facts right before writing something. Dravid has an avg of 74.5 in the last 10 ODI's... and is one of the most consistent batsman that india has ever produced

Well he is a demotivator and He is a selfish player. Now he cant even play like he used to . Make Sachin the Captain (better statistics in batting) or may be Dada. Dravid needs to be rested.

But still, Dravid is the most consistent player of the team. He is a player for big matches and WC, needless to be said is such a big thing..... . and Fielding..........??????? we should not forget his unmoemorable catches as a slip fielder. Everybody has bad times....... bad patch is a part of a player\'s life, even Sachin was out of form for long times......., so, we should now encourage Rahul insteed of discouraging him!

Dravid has been taking Team India from one defeat to another he came into Team India captaincy with a coup staged by Him Chapell and More with the likes of Durgandhpur and support of the lungis. The Team was at No2 position in one dayers Just after Australia and more than 16 months India is below Pakistan in the last 3. He talks big about experiments and what not. He has a miserable sad face always looks constipated and for him smiling does not happen to be a part of Human emotions. He is a poor motivator and mumbles in press interviews. Why should he be retained in Team India. He is out of form so why not rest him. Let him prove is next domestic season till such time get laxman, Kaif or Powar in the Team.

thats indian thinking, when u can drop saurav why cant u drop dravid my friend, moreso because these days the frustration shows on his face during press meetings, he is not able to justify his decisions of including sehwag and gets angry when direct questions are shot to him, hes lost the mind of a captain and needs to relax a bit just like saurav so that hes knows what a captain is to a team.

when dravid will learn to do killer instinct? Once first few wickets of opponents are gone, he is playing just defensive not offensive to crush them. Only he change his tactics and mind set INDIA will be fit for the complete fight in the world cup

selector select 15 players squad for world cup but in this team no all rounder is there. We won world cup of 1983 because we had so many all rounder that time but now. My opinion is that all rounder will play major role is this world cup.

Dude..we have no prolific all rounder in domestic circuit..Probably the best one is Irfan among the lot...Joginder Sharma has done remarkably well in domestic arena but cud not impress anyone with his "less-than-medium" pace and "wanna-smash-every ball" batting attitude...!!! U cannot blame the selectors.

relax guys, it is true that sehwag has not performed well over the last few matches, but i think as india in their first round of the world cup are facing two minnows, sehwag can be dropped after he fails aginst srilanka in the WC.think if he clicks because cricket is a glorious game of uncertainty.
