bowling

The decision to make tendulkar ball is wrong because he always gives runs and he bowls only 1 or 2 good balls in an over this makes batsmen to settle, and that is why oopostion team always reaches a good total although they loose the top orders. In other teams there will be 2 good bowlers to bowl the middle overs and will carries opposition under pressure which was given by the oppening bowlers and they get out for cheap score. But in indian case it is different. That is why india cannot bowls out oopositions very cheaply although they get the top orders. Why put Dhoni, karthik is a brilliant batsman keeper, instead put powar or good bowler so we can tighten up the middle overs. As far rahul is concerned out of last fifty match he has batted he got out played-on.So there is some sought of foot work errors,so it is the duty of the coach to correct it he repeats the mistake again and again so as sewhag he is in team for five years stills his foot work is not corrected, whenever he gets out they say he is not moving his foot, then what is the need of a coach.

The Virendar Sehwag Conundrum
by prash k on Feb 14, 2007 01:09 PM  Permalink

Viru must be the one of the luckiest players around. There can%u2019t be no doubts about it. I cant remember any other player being given the run he has been given despite his lack of success or even apparent lack of commitment.

Having said that it would have been hard to see him not selected for the tournament. He always carries an X factor in his batting and I guess that is what has forced the selectors hand. The kind of tempting possibility that the day he comes good, he can turn the match on its head single handedly. But the way his case has been handled makes the whole scenario very laughable.

After the SA debacle, Vengsarkar announcing his dropping him from the side, announced, %u201Che has to sort out his cricket, his batting basically%u201D. The predictable obviousness of the statement apart, what did he exactly mean by that?

That he has to go back to some lower level of cricket, and get his technique worked out?

There was hardly any opportunities for sehwag to do that, and here he is selected again despite any convincing performances or even chances to get anything proven outside of the international games

Now if he was going to be part of the WC plans anyway, why wasn%u2019t he picked for the WI series, wouldn%u2019t that helped him iron out his chinks before the world cup?

Or was the think tank considering the West Indies series more important than the world cup?

Or where they hiding him from any more failures before they can announce the squad?

Now he may prove all of us wrong and go out and get a good score today, but that doesn%u2019t mean that all cricket logic has been defied in the way his case was handled.

May be it is time we look at players like what they are, professional players and not like icons like they are made out to be.

And then may be we can expect a selection panel that makes it decisions based on sound logic and not emotions%u2026

Spin Techniques
by Gurdeep Sohal on Feb 14, 2007 01:04 PM  Permalink

If rediff can pass this message to India's Coach or off-spinners. I can demonstrate a new delivery to them. This delivery is called as reverse spin.It is very handy delivery to get the batsman caught at short leg or silly point.

Hope that I would get some posative answer from Rediff.

Thanks

Karthick Should be Out
by Nikunj Doshi on Feb 14, 2007 01:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I Think Karthick is a good Team Player. But not so good as he should be included purely as a Batsmen

5th Bowler

Now the absence of 5th regular bowler in our team. Two part-time bolwlers together gave away 63 runs, where other 4 regular bowlers very economically bowled. Do you suggest this 4 Bolwler, one extra batsman strategy for the world cup. I believe there is a risk.

they just gave away 20 odd runs extra than the regular bowlers. and it makes sense to play with an extra batsman. morover both of them are spin bowlers which may be very useful in carribain pitch conditions
