India has lost in such circumstances for at least million times. They are really highly upredictable team. They are dogs who can only perform when it's their day and unfortunately, the sun only rises a few days in a year.

We, cricket fans, want to believe so desperately that our team has now improved and would not sink back to the bottom that we forget that how can it be when the players are the same as before, selectors are the same as before, Only thing that perhaps has changed is our way to look at the team. We look at it from various different angles and start to see new team all together.

I pity us...

People don't tell me that I am one of those fans who start making hue and cry no sooner India loses a match. Dude! it's not about losing a match here and their, it's about "consistency","predictability" and "spirit". And all three just never be with the team. Some of these characters flash for a while and then vanish in the darkness of mediocricity..

When D KArtik and Dhoni are in a good coomanding position, why Dhoni has not gone for big hits instead taking the game till end. He is wants some thriller at the end by hiting 4's and 6's or is there anything else which externally forces him to play a long Single's? Think. Don't blame Samules here in our side we have all Samules.

Horses should be for courses
by Abhijit Ghosh on Feb 11, 2007 05:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

May be Anil Kumble is a good bowler but should not be picked in carib world cup, and Harbhjan Singh should not be India's no 8 batsman, may be 10 at best 9, and if Anil Kumble is in the team he should not bat less than #11.

Kumble has time & again bowled India for wins in both Test & ODI, especially his record in WI is the best among current bowlers, if you want to have any chances of the cup then don't even fancy such wild ideas of dropping our main trump card.

Kumble the old man should go home, take rest and spend the rest of his years with his older wife.

mind your language, Kumble is a great bowler and more than that he is a great human being. while most of our leading cricketers are venturing in to business like restaurants etc.. Kumble has shown great humility & nobleness in constructing free hospital for the poor & deprived, and when hundreds of girls would have lined up to marry him, he went & married a lady who was in trouble, only indian bowler to grab all the ten wickets in a test, time & again contributed to India's victory, give him a flat & bland pitch and don't expect him to do miracles. miracles he has done plenty in the past, do not talk light of our highest wicket taker, you may have the freedom to write what you want to through this site, but along with freedom comes responsibility please exercise restraint criticism is the easiest job, DO NOT MAKE IRRESPONSIBLE STATEMENT and make a joke of yourself.

Really Depressin'.....TEAM INDIA Rating D-
by ALIRIO SALDANHA on Feb 11, 2007 05:33 PM  Permalink

When the press was in, the D camp showed that they could not meet the challange. OK, agreed that Dhoni was trying his best to keep his wicket without some 'typical' Dhonian shots. However, he missed the cue not spacing a couple of fours in between. He should have brought his d'ble heavier bat 6 overs earlier too.

Tom Moody slowly started showing a smile, in the end, and my dear friend Chappell started getting the chills! Should have asked for a blanket.

NO matter what Team India does on the drawing board, nor how much Chappell put's in his smart brains, nor how much the guy's do in the dressing room - the key is what you are in the MIDDLE!

And you guys flunked today! Poor show TEAM INDIA.

victory was near

India could still have won if in the last scored runs. Kumble wasted balls at the crucial time in the end.

what a shame should we expect our bowlers to score runs for us and why our batsmen did not score, when SL batsmen score century our batsmen nobody stays there they are all happy scoring 50 and retaining their places rather than hold on to ensure india victory.

I have not seen the live telecast but followed cricinfo. Why should you blame Kumble? What Dhanadhan Dhoni has done. Simple played like a test cricket making SINGLES? He is the SAMULE of the Match Today.

Only india could have lost this!!
by Alok Pathak on Feb 11, 2007 05:30 PM  Permalink

they have proved yet again ...crusing towards a victory, you flip few channels ....come back to cricket ..witness a defeat out of no where!! quite fittingly another channel was playing the song ...it happens only in india ...
the painful thing is with the world cup round the corner, No one could be sacked...we will have to tolerate Dravid-Chappel-sehwag trio for some time to come.
