Dravid should be allowed to play where he is best - 1 down

Send Tendulkar to open. He has more experience in opening atleast in One-dayers, if indeed Yuvraj has to be accommodated. Dravid is being made the sacrificial goat...

Now, Sehwag can be given a chance to open.
The best line up will be Jaffer, Karthik, Dravid, Sachin, Sourav, Laxman, Dhoni/Sehwag/Yuvraj, Irfan/Ishant/Pankaj, Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer. If Sehwag is playing, then Karthik can be the wicket keeper.
Now our team does not have a right arm pace bowler for this test match which is a boon for the Australian right hand batsmen

What difference it would make brining in shewag. Still we the 1 down will be like a opener to face the new ball.

Wall
by Nameless on Dec 27, 2007 05:50 PM  Permalink

The wall is a middle-order batsman. Yuvraj scored a duck thus nullifying the purpose for which Rahul was made to open. Now the Wall might get disoriented as to where he is and where he is heading. If Yuvraj has to be accommodated, he has to open the innings or Sehwag has to be brought back. These half-baked arrangements will result only in these kind of results.

Dravid- a spent force?/

Dravid seems to be a spent force.. he should retire gracefully instead of facing humiliation

NO.I think its not correct.Because for suppose Dravid is the worst fellow what about the other players.what happend to them. Its quiet common in game. There is no option other than laxman playing such a long innings in test cricket. The thing what we have to do is wishing him for a good form.

A few bad innings and a player becomes a spent force? How many times have we said the same about Tendulkar, Ganguly and Laxman too and each time they turnaround to prove us wrong.

We are Indians
by cattamanchi chaitanya on Dec 27, 2007 05:41 PM  Permalink

We praised when saurav scored 8 yrs back , scolded him and made get thrown out of the team 3 yrs back and we are again praising him now ..

Poor Dravid , he is in a bad patch now ..And now people are scolding him like any thing instead of giving him a some encouragement to perform ..

I pray god that he should perform well in the second innings

Most pathetic innings I've ever seen
by Sreecharan S on Dec 27, 2007 05:34 PM  Permalink

At times Dravid was so pathetic today that he would leave the ball even before the ball is bowled. His signature gesture today is leaving the ball outside the off stump.
