Mst useless batsman of the squad is dravid .He deserves a kick out from the team.He even disturb the winning position just always keeping defense bat and get out after eating as many balls as he can .Selectors should aware of it .Just he played for a draw to day as if he is playing the finel day of the match

Mr. Krishnamurthy, have you ever held a bat in your hand and faced a single ball, even in gully cricket? Your comment is ridiculous.

Shame!
by Howard Roark on Dec 27, 2007 06:48 PM  Permalink

I am sure in the second innings when India would be struggling to draw the game and expect "THE WALL" to live up to his name and fabled reputation...he will get out first ball...these kind of batting performances are what will lead to the eventual demise of test cricket...Shame Dravid!

Sehwag should be back
by S Raju on Dec 27, 2007 06:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India needs stroke maker in the opening stand. We performed well in Australia in the last tour because of our positive intent. It is hightime to bring back sehwag in the second test if india wants to perform well in this tour.

Yeah Sehwag would hav scored the same 3 or four runs but in 10 deliveries and got out. Sehwag, Agarkar are not even fit to play in Ranjit Trophy. Dinesh Karthick was a better opener. He played very well in England pitches.

Blame Selectors!
by pradeep kumar on Dec 27, 2007 06:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dravid did play slowly rather badly today. If at all openers were little positive India would have been in better position. But the team composition is to blame for this. How in the world India does not have a specialist opener for tour to Aus.If sehwag was selected for that then he should play(it would not have changed the match situation though). You cant ask Dravid to open ,when he batted at no 3 or down all his carreer.Selectors should have groomed openers..opening is always been worry and no body seems to have any back up plan.
Team composition needs change, get Harbhajan out..he never looked like taking wickets, get a balance even if it needs Yuvraj to sit out.
Blame selectors not Dravid!

The opener know that there are two openers waiting to grab their places. So they are playing for their places rather than for the team. And dravid just higliglet today why he is called the Wall. but i think it has to be framed to something meaningful.... because even if the ball hits a wall, it will go somewhere in the field to give you a single....right?

I believe you are cricket fanatic. You want to make kenya and holland match winners. It would have been apt if you had said india should stop playing cricket.

Dravid has no teeth to say NO.
by udaysimha A on Dec 27, 2007 06:15 PM  Permalink

Dravid may be a gritty fellow on field but seems to be a weak fellow otherwise. He did wicket keeping for India for a couple of years even though he is not a specialist in that job. Now he is digging his own grave by agreeing to open the innings which is not his specialist position.

He gave up Captaincy to concentrate on batting. He is already out of the one-day team and is on the verge of going out of the the test team too. I dont know on what is he concentarting. I thought cricket was a game where you need to score runs until I saw Dravid batting.

Selectors, please get some specialist openers and give us a break.

Excellant Selfless Cricketer for his own self
by pc on Dec 27, 2007 06:10 PM  Permalink

What a performance by Dravid!!!! I wonder if he could ever beat this again!! First run like kohinoor diamond after forty (useless) balls. Great going Dravid. You stand as agreat example of the stone wall or rather the Iron Wall. No wonder that your performace stands out as the FOURTH ever in the History of Cricket. You have definitely come a long long way Dravid. Keep it up and better it. May be the next innings itself, the sooner the better.

Dravid should learn to say no. He can't be goodie goodie to everyone and accept all the s**t. In the process he is getting penalised and eventually the team

I agree a hundred percent there. Dravid is doing a job he is not supposed to. If Yuvraj has to play then he should be the one to open not Dravid. In an attempt to "fit" him in we have messed up our whole batting order. Indian Captains should realise an opener's slot is not a merry-go-round where anyone can get on and get off. We have made a major blunder this test and given away the advantage. It will be a long haul back.
