no every team need coach. even though aus need that. we r making some strategical mistake which was proving fatal to us.otherwise we are near to clinch the series against aussies and could win against pak by 4-1.

No need for a cricketing coach. For administrative purposes we have Lalchand Rajput. May be now that Vengsucker will be free we can appoint him as an assistant to Rajput where he will go unnoticed.

BCCI

Call Jimmy or Sandeep Patil and end the chapter.

But BCCI is run by jokers who has Taliban-attitude. I don't like BCCI and their good-for-noting politician.

Coach for india
by madhav kapsikar on Dec 04, 2007 11:15 AM  Permalink

Looking at the recent winnings we don't want any foreign coach to the team . even Mr. Rajput did a very good job for the team india. We alrady saw the X effects of foreign coaches who worked in india didn't do much with the team's sprit. The point is we need a spirit to win india and after the selection foreign coaches don't think it works. we already have past experience so must think about the winning.

BCCI deserves the mud on its face
by India on Dec 04, 2007 11:08 AM  Permalink

Looks like this redneck Kirsten is getting cold feet like his fellow South African Andrew Ford did few months ago. If Kirsten backs out BCCI will once again become a laughing stock which it fully deserves. Anyway why does BCCI want Kirsten when there are far better coaches available both Indian and foreign? Besides Kirsten has no prior experience as a coach. Now Kirsten is giving the excuse that some Indian senior( Sachin Tendulkar) is against Kirsten. Like he did not know this before. Indian seniors are always against the appointment of any coach that they do not suggest themselves. Like they did for Chappell(by Ganguly) and Wright.(by Dravid)

Gary Kirsten - an unwanted coach
by VENKATARAMA RAVICHANDRAN on Dec 04, 2007 10:42 AM  Permalink

Ever since Greg left us, the Indian team has been doing well in the absence of a foreign coach. Lalchand Rajput has done a reasonably good job and appears to have developed good rapport with both the seniors and juniors in the team. The team has done well as a cohesive unit. Under the circumstances, appointing a foreign coach is totally unwarranted. To top it, giving him all the assurances as he demands is not only totally nonsensical but also undeserving. It is for him to command respect. Respect cannot be demanded.

Ravichandran, Chennai

Gary Kirsten as India's cricket coach
by chandra r on Dec 04, 2007 10:34 AM  Permalink

The problem with foreign coaches is that they think very bad of our country and think they are doing a fovour to us by accepting to be our coach and live in India. See Gary Kirsten! Making a big fuss! He wants assurance from players. Nonsense. Our Lalchand Rajput is far better. See the latest results when he has been our coach. Our bowling looks much better with coachin by Venkatesh Prasad.

Gary Curse..ten.

These whites are now desperate to make money off this side of the world. Why can't he just back off? He should know that he needs to sweat it out to make his money...he's no Indian politician!

Krishna,
Get out of your racist mindset;and stop looking at things as "black" and "white".
The topic is something else, and you are hijacking it somewhere else.
