The list speaks for itself... the bcci works on factors other than cricket, it appears obvious now that no one has faith in them!!

BCCI VERSUS ICL
by vaibhav kumar on Aug 21, 2007 05:43 PM  Permalink

I am really suprised to note that BCCI, who is a profit making private Inc. is taking such harsh stand against ICL, who is also aprofit making provate subsidiary of Essar group.

The best solution could have been that BCCI should have married with the idea of ICL with their inputs and could have started a joint venture for this type of intiaitive something like ESPN-star sports married with each other few years back.

Now we may not know that the legal battles within these giants may do more ahrm to the game of cricket in India than do good for any of these profit making organizations.

Both organizations are money minded and both have vested interests. The tolerance of Indian cricket loving public is on stack. They have to show more endurance than the profit making cricket administrators in India.

ICL and Kapil Dev
by r s rao on Aug 21, 2007 05:43 PM  Permalink

It was expected of BCCI to sack Kapil or for that matter anyone who went against its wishes. One thing has come out clear is that instead of professionals running the scene, politicians do and spoil the only sport which is watched by millions.

I wont be much worried as such because cricket has lost some of its shine with bettings / match fixings / internal - regional politics / the furore created when ganguly was sacked, when noone said anything when other players were made to sit. It is a murky thing.

I hope ICL would function professionally and give due respect to its players who are selected on merit basis and not on region. Also shape up or ship out policy must be enforced strictly right from the beginning. Then you have 'pay and watch the performance' like in paid channels.
Let healthy competition start between bcci and icl instead of rubbish statements.

PAWAR WANTS POWER -MONEY POWER. BCCI HAS MONEY. HE SAW MORE MONEY IN ICC AND NOW TRYING TO BECOME ICC PRESIDENT. DALMIYA MADE BCCI RICH. PAWAR GOT GREEDY AND KICKED OUT DALMIYA WITH THE HELP OF THE LEFT AND THE CONGRESS RULED STATES.

by Hardik Vasa on Aug 21, 2007 05:40 PM  Permalink

BCCI should learn to have a better sportsmanspirirt. Competition is good for any sport, by doing such things, BCCI is trying
to run away from the problems instead of solving them. After to-days announcements, it
is not easy to stop ICL from growing, Beware BCCI.
