I agree to the fact that Kapil Dev was a good allrounder. He lead the team that collectively worked hard, contributed their best efforts and won the Prudential World Cup. But other than that what is Kapils contribution to BCCI/Indian Cricket after his retirement. He is a head stong, patronising and arrogant individual who thinks no end of himself. Where as the name Sachin, a living legend, whose fans are there all over the world, is synonym to humility humble nature and politeness.
Kapil tried his luck in politics and now out to make some money with ICL. There is nothing wrong in ICL. In fact, it has opened up a competitive spirit in indian cricket.
Kapil to cricket is like what amitabh is to movies. Both are good but certainly not as great as they themselves and the media over rates them.

Dear Mr.ON, why Kapil for dat matter which Indian gr8 has done much for Indian crciket post-retirement...Gavaskar??? Shastri???..None,simply bcoz wen cricket is run by BCCI none of these former players want and CAN interfere...they might adorn various BCCI commitees but they have no power beyond dat..its FACT...Kapil has alawys been known to speak his mind, he had d balls so he moved out...have u ever heard gavaskar say a thing against BCCI inspite of all the dubious distinction dat d board has and recent Indian performances...NEVER...simply bcoz he is very tactful n diplomatic, and he is willing to toe d BCCI line!!!

Shashtri who is he? How many run and wkts he has taken in his whole life. he was playing only irritaed Criket. he spoled lots of indian match by his stupid Batting. He is even far infferior than Azhar, VC, Dilip or even Mohindar Amar nath. I failed to udnertand how u uttered his name in same braket of Kapil and Gavasker or Sachin. Hrithik Roshan and Ravi shashtri are the adopted son of media.

its wrong that kapil icked out of nca...but what did he do for indian cricket's future there, did he groomed a new talent like tendu 'happened' in 1989

Here you have got BCCI President who has formed a rebel group while he was in Congress. Then his party has joined hands with congress for better future of the country(this is what he said when joined hands). If he can do it successfully for better future of this country then why not in cricket. Mr. Pawar grow up coz you are the biggest example of rebelism for betterment.

all the politicians such as Rajiv Shukla, Sharad Pawar etc. etc. should be thrown out of the sports. They are just maligning the sports nothing else.
Mera Desh Mahan; aur mein kahan???? Shayad yahi kapil sochta hoga. Lekin Aise hi desh chalega iska matlab ye nahi ke hum bhi waise hi chalein..... GO AHEAD KAPIL PAAAAJI
the BCCI would have done itself good by accepting the ICL as its twenty20 wing. this would have helped in unearthing twenty20 specialists as well as kept both of them. right now, 3/4th of the country hates the BCCI and the other 1/4th doesnt know cricket. so, no prizes for guessing who is the loser. its not rocket science
