How ICL will operate
by sree on Aug 21, 2007 06:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am confused, how ICL will operate. Will they develop a parallel team india and send for tournaments. How can these retired and overseas players get involved in Indian Cricketing Events?

Anyone there who can clarify this.

Hey sree, don't worry ! about 90% of cricket lovers are confused about this. Now when the players of ICL will be banned from BCCI how would they will be selected for India team ? Now are we going to have 2 teams for World Cup??

All matches in ICL would be fixed!!!
by omprakash pandey on Aug 21, 2007 06:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think all cricket matches in the ICL would be fixed, with the results decided by the bookies. We have the master bookie as the chairman and it's the theatrics person who's the promoter. So frinds brace yourself up for some WWF stlyed (read fixed) cricket.

Dear Cebu, why Kapil for dat matter which Indian gr8 has done much for Indian crciket post-retirement...Gavaskar??? Shastri???..None,simply bcoz wen cricket is run by BCCI none of these former players want and CAN interfere...they might adorn various BCCI commitees but they have no power beyond dat..its FACT...Kapil has alawys been known to speak his mind, he had d balls so he moved out...have u ever heard Gavaskar say a thing against BCCI inspite of all the dubious distinction dat d board has and recent Indian performances...NEVER...simply bcoz he is very tactful n diplomatic, and he is willing to toe d BCCI line!!!

Bulls at BCCI
by Yogesh on Aug 21, 2007 06:21 PM  Permalink

This is the most what BCCI Can do. They have made every move to ruin cricket in India, and now when some one else is taking an initiative they have started this rude game. Firstly its foolish for BCCI to oppose the ICL. Their actions would have been appropriate if ICL had plans to set up an parallel body to BCCI which it doesn%u2019t have. These Jokers in BCCI are afraid of ICL because it might hurt their Quota Raj policy and their chunk of cream which they have been enjoying for decades. What do people like Sharad Pawar know about cricket, ask him to go and look after the plies of Farmers in Baramati? This Politicians breed would turn to any thing that has money in it. And this guy is the perfect example. What is more pathetic is that these people imposing bans on players participating in the league, it means that these players should either live on mercy of the board or else face ban. Firstly who has given the rights to BCCI to have authority on cricket in India? Is it a government Body? I request rediff to organize an online poll to check the same. This Cheats in BCCI, are just concerned with the cream and they do not give a damm to the welfare of cricket. I don%u2019t support ICL too, but at least they have provided a ground for players who have been neglected by the bulls in BCCI. Lastly if at all BCCI wants to be the ultimate governing body, should recognize the ICL and save it self from shame.

Kapildev sacked
by Unni on Aug 21, 2007 06:20 PM  Permalink

I think the BCCI is on its suicidal course. Let us pray Almighty to rest it in peace. If such action is encouraged why so many football clubs in India; why cant you bring all of them under one umbrella and make Munshiji its chairman like Pawar of BCCI

BCCI sacks Kapil
by Ratnakar Mankad on Aug 21, 2007 06:20 PM  Permalink

None of the BCCI functionaries can hold a candle against Kapil as a cricketer. They are all minions while likes of Kapil, Gavaskar, Sachin and Ganguli are cricketing gods in India.

It is time that BCCI laws require every functionary to have played meaningfull cricket at the highest level with some distinction in their younger days before they are allowed to pass judgement on past greats.

It is also time to insist that BCCI functionaries be full time paid people for the duration of their tenure and not crickets nobodies like Mr. Pawar and Niranjan Shah with no cricket playing history of any value or like some of the selectors who have played one or two first class matches and found themselves dropped from team for lack of performance.
