1. Replace captain with Sehwag. He is slightly better than Dravid. why: Dravid lacks imagination and aggression in field setting. He is afraid to lose.
2. Replace dhoni with dinesh karthik. Dhoni can be a special slogger. Why: We need energy in the field. Dhoni lacks skill or quick reflexes to be a wicket keeper. His batting is a failure against non subcontinent team.
3. Hire bowling coach. Why: I am stunned to hear that munaf , sreesanth are striving for accuracy with less pace. Who is advising these people?. These indian bowlers are not mcgrath. They do not have height to produce enough bounce to make ball unplayable. If you bowl slow , you will get hit even if you bowl straighter.
4. Pay the players based on their strike rate and runs. Subtract 50% if they misfield or drop catches.
5. With regional politics India must have foreign coach. And greg chappell is the best. Only problem Greg have is that he was unlucky to have clueless dravid as a captain. Sourav was another extreme with no battng form.
6. I do not believe that indians are not strong enough to bowl faster. Elite indian selectiors are blind towards more stronger people in rural areas.
The team needs a shakeup.Some senior players have taken their place for granted...i am sorry to say that tendulkar is also guilty..he might be the inform batsman at pressent but his inability to deliver against australia (except sharjah) remains...sehwag,yuvraj,...all have failed to apply themselves..leave aside the bowlers...i personally do not feel that INDIA missed agarkar yesterday..his bowling in the death against the windies (flurry of wides on either sides of the wkt says it all)...bring in young players and continue having faith in them...retain only seniors who r ready to take the burden , r read to be accpuntable to the nation...and introduce performance based pay...they r overpaid...i can also go out and score a duck and pocket a lakh every match...accountability has to be there and no politics in taem selection...easier said than done...
I saw yesterday India - Australia match and it was pathetic. India was playing like if they were in some fear. You always expect high competation in such a stage of game and frankly speaking Bangladesh - Australia match would have been more competitive.
India has good bowlers like Zaher Khan, Aish Nehra, Kumble, Balaji, I don't know why they were not included in the Team?
Now days, there is lots of politics involved in selection also. The secelection should be public poll.

Most of the messages under this posting expressed opinions same as - bring Gangs back, sack Greg, sack Dravid from captaincy. To win, you need a team performance - not individuals; Ganguly is way past his prime, only good against Zim and Bangladesh (please dont bring him back just for motivating this team or any team). Sacking Greg wont help, we dont have team players - a bunch of individuals whom we rely on to click once in few showings (Sehwag, Tendu, Raina, etc.); Irfan, Sehwag should go back and play some Ranji games.
1983 WC was won by India with team comprising of Sandhu, Madan, Binny and Mohinder as key bowlers along with "always reliable" Kapil. They all bowled within their limits and all worked as a team. We need to depends on teamwork and not individuals. India will never a WC again, as we dont have a cohesive team structure anymore.
The way in which our players are playing,we can be rest assured that India cannot be the world beaters.They are proving that whatever they won so far is fluke.They are a bunch of brilliant individuals catering to the galleries.they don't have dedication,application and the will to win.All the fast bowlers must be thought how to maintain line and length,leave alone how to take wkts.When they are going to learn the basic.Ordinary bowlers like Maharoof,Gul,Ifthikar rao and Langveldt ratlle the opponents,but our so-called pacemen are treated like club bowlers.Why waste time on them?They can't and won't change.
According to me now india s facing mainly three problems. 1. Lack of an aggressive captain. It s very sad to c that rahul dravid s not at all improving. he s very good when he com infront of media but not in field. He s not all good motivator for d team (like ganguly done early). He doesn't have any sprit of d game. According to me dravid s d worst captain in oneday cricket now. I feel tat kaif or yuvaraj vll be better than him. 2. Lack of good game planner. creg chappel is very very agressive infront of meida. In the begining he try some nonsence n it clicked. but i won't work always. (luck s not always with us) v have to make a senseble plans. i think the first moto of the australian coach s to destroy indain teams morale before the world sup so tat australins can take the next world cup easly. 3. Lack of proffessionalism. if one player s taken for a series he can continue util the end of d series. even though he didn't give any contibution to the team for first three matches n in last game he vll some how fidout a half century or century then he seat for next sries vll fixed. wat s sevang & yuraj doing all these days.

the 2nd slot for these players will make sehwag play for his place rather making money by this international cricketer tag. i prefer dravid coming 3rd but when kaif plays at 3rd he has the best averages at any other position. then 4th can be rahul dravid with each player slipping down and raina moving out of the list. we hav enough of pathan. let him see indian best bowler in form for a while and make him work hard for his place. Regarding Sehwag I was a great fan of him when he was new to international cricket. now when i see him batting its looks as if he wants to bst in the dressing room. Now Kaif. I dont like his batting style but would love to see his determintaion. he is always determined to perform but with his style of holding the bat and his strokes, any team can trap him and get him out. Our fast bowlers lack determination. munaf cant bowl more 150kmph when he says he can bowl more than 150
