If the board is contemplating replacing chappell then why wait till world cup. If the BCCI is not happy with his performance then it is better to part ways now rather than wait till world cup. If there is a financial constraint in the contract with chappell, please honour it.
This will not only help us to reorganize our team and prepare for the world cup but it will also be saving some of the cricketer's career that is taking a beating due to constant shuffling of their batting orders.
This will help us to atleast go prepared with our strategies to world cup based on our strengths and weakness and try to give our best shot.
There is no dearth of talent but only we (our selectors, coach, adminstrators) need the will to be on the right path and not be biased on the regional quotas. Only performance needs to be the benchmark for selection to the team.
To make the best out of the Indian Team, the following should be done.
1. Stop experimenting a lot. It clicked when the pitches were flat. But, it doesn't happen all the time.
2. To the best of my knowledge, our team should comprise the following players. 1 & 2 - You need Sehwag & Sachin at the top. [Remember in WI, pitches don't seam they are slow] 3 - You need a seasoned & wristy player for the slow pitches. So my vote will be for VVS. 4 - You can have Dravid 5 - Yuvraj 6 - If Ganguly can return this would be the best slot because, he is a natural shot maker than slogger. 7 - MS Dhoni (or) D. Karthick. Karthick is a wristy & a strokeful player than Dhoni. My vote goes to him. 8 - Ajit Agarkar 9 - Harbhajan 10 - Kumble 11 - L. Balaji
We can have VRV singh, Munaf, Mongia, Kaif in the squad. Ganguly can do a lot of medium pace bowling & that helps on a slow wicket. If either spinners or pacers go for runs, we have Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj & Mongia to do the slow turners.
Our players have talent, but they are lacking behind taking audacious attempts.
1. Chappel must be removed from his position. He is not at all interested in our team performance. That\'s why he was the reason to through Ganguly out of the team.
2. Sachin who has very good experience in international cricket is afraid of hitting a ball if the bowler is McRawth.
3. Dravid is a very good player as a batsman. But not good, as a Captain.
4. Schewag is stylish and powerful player, should analyze his mistaking shots.
5. Kaif should be trained not only running fast between wickets and also to hit the ball hard.
6. Dhony is doing well and he should be retained in the team.
7. No Agarkar, Pathan should be trained to produce a good length of bowling. Jaheer should be included.
8. SreeSanth tries to give variety in his bowling, should be polished more.
9. Our bowlers not attacking the batsmen at all. They looking at how their ball was hit by the opponent batsmen.
Call them BLUE BILLION or whatever you want... its pathetic to see the so called Heroes of the Billion Population country, in which almost 2 out of 3 are intertested in the game, bowing out easily to a tough opponent. Though I lost interest in the TEAM, when they come out to play I try spending lot of time expecting them to stand out to the expectation.. but nowadays that doesnt happen and it hurts a lot... I feel shameful when the players commit blunders even in basic rules of the game.. why.. why we are not able to give tough fight.. If batsmen plays, bowlers show bad performance or the vice versa... I never agree to so called inexperience of new comers as they dont directly come to the international arena.. they had played lot of intra tournaments... The team seem to be bowing out to the past bad experiences rather than focusing on the current situation... No one to be blamed.. its the fate.. having such book-only good masters and so called spirited youngsters...
