Indian Cricket Team
by T S Shanmugham on Oct 31, 2006 02:18 PM  Permalink

Too many advises and criticsm are spoiling Indian Cricket. Rahul should be given a free hand in all the matters and must be encouraged. Whereas atleast one recognised former opening batsman has made it a point to criticise every other movement of the team. Shewag is becoming a liability and it is high time that he be given ultimatum. Again there is no use persisting with Raina and Laxman should be included. It is not Rahul's fault if the bowlers and other batsmen could not deliver. They are all professionals and should be able to absorb all shock and perform at every stage.

Planning and Implimentation
by Dhanaraj on Oct 31, 2006 02:17 PM  Permalink

The present team composition nor the ability of the players are at doubt, the only difference between the the best team and our team is lack of planning and implimentaion of the planning along with the mental toughness. If i compare a bowler like Mc.Grath and other bowlers the only reason for his greatness is his ability to stick to the planning he is doing while he starts bowling to the opponent. He may seam to be bowling a bad deleivery at times which will make the batsmen let loose his hands but the very next delivery will expose the weekness of the batsmen to shed his wicket.

How to make india world beaters
by sudhish on Oct 31, 2006 02:16 PM  Permalink

Youth policy please. When Chappel and Dravid started it I wonder why they have backtracked now. Where is Uthappa, Gambhir, Piyush, VRV singh, in th eplan now !!! Let there be bad results but if you dont persist with youth in big matches then the future looks bleak, especially if you want to stay on top of the rankings. Let the big names be dropped or accountable including tendulkar. Haven't the aussies dropped hayden from ODI's. Only giving chances to the young players will make india world beaters in ODI's

Suggestions to team India
by Ratnakar on Oct 31, 2006 02:14 PM  Permalink

First of all the middle order batsmen should know how to pick runs by pushing the ball into the gaps and make as many runs as possible. They shuold try not push the straight to the fielders.

Give them some more time....
by Madhu chandra H B on Oct 31, 2006 02:13 PM  Permalink

Hi Guys..

Its really Sad..you guys giving Support when team is on Dream run..But when they lost three consecutive tournaments..you started...this is bad..i do agree with you..too much exp.is goin on..but you accepted it when they are winning,But none of the players were not in form, how can they play well. Its Team game, not individuals game, every indian expect to win every match but it all depends on that day.when they perform, but Selectors while selecting team has to leave some players who are not performing well,Any way pray for indian team to do well in future, any comments are most appreciated

Regards

Madhu

sms campaign
by H Ibrahim on Oct 31, 2006 02:13 PM  Permalink

At the time of world cup 2003 when india did not do well in the first 2 matches, a sms campaign started in which people declared that they would stop using products promoted by cricketers. something similar is required now. if we do such a campaign again and threateb to boycott products promoted by our non performing stars, they will start performing, becuase advertisement revenues are something which will affect them and boost them/ motivate them to perform or lose out on the crores

fast bowling
by Ameen on Oct 31, 2006 02:12 PM  Permalink

Hi folks,

A lot of fuss is made about Indian batsman not scaring enough runs when our bowlers have bowled quite well.

but what happened to them thm at Mohali, were ther lightning struck they all looked dazed and surprised fear of batsmen loomed large over their eyes.

Any ways some 6 months back i came across an intresting article making a mention on Aabid Nabi a young strapping fast bolwer who could hurl the red cherry at great speeds with disconcerning bounce.

Well where is this guy, may a fast bolwer who can really bolw quick can lift the sagging sprits of our team .

We need a genuine quick bowler who can touch 150 mark regularly and knows the use of toe crushing yorkers.

Well thats allll i have to say.

spark is needed
by Aditya on Oct 31, 2006 02:12 PM  Permalink

See I am not expert in cricket and I am not kind of a person who like criticize individual for team failure.

But as a avid fan I will like to suggest few things:

1. Get back to the basics.

2.Pep talk

3.No endorsement for the players till world cup

(5mths)

6.Old is gold.So you can try few old players who has done well in the past(no retirees)

lastly I will like to it is the time to pull up your socks and show the world - 1983 was not a fluke.
