Painful to see Indian's performance under Dravid & Greg. What a performance in 2nd ODI against Soth Afrika on 22nd Nov 06. Mohindar Amarnath was right ... "Selectors are bunch of Jokers". Tradition goes on & On.
Another idea is to ban all countries except india , zim and bangladesh... bet you india might lose few matches to these countries here and there but still in long run they will be the so called WORLD BEATERS !
I am a regular follower of cricket world and offcourse fan of Indian team untill we sacked ganguly from the team. Eventhough we won many matches after sacking him we are back to square one where he left the team. We were talking about the consistency of a player in our team and wonder who would be in the list. I agree that we have youngsters in the team and the quality of fielding has improved but they have let us down in scoring runs. Now the question arises where we need to have good fielders around along with exceptional ones which was satisfied by kaif and yuvaraj in ganguly's period and now by raina and yuvraj in dravid's captaincy. After 1 1/2 year trial period with Indian team chappel has found out few good players such as Raina,Dhoni,SreeShanth,RP Singh,romesh pawar,munaf but the scenario is except Dhoni no body is sure for this world cup. They are bringing back the guys who were successful in ganguly's period. Now the team is actually the one which ganguly formed and now ganguly itself is not in. Expected lot for the world cup are Dravid,Sewag,Sachin,Yuvi,kaif,Raina, Dinesh Mongia,Dhoni,Pathan,munaf.The current problem is that no one is sure of who is going to be in WC
Hey make me the coach, give me permission to beat the shit of players, even slap them in an ongoing game for astupid mistake of them, deprive them of royalty even for the pin the endorse, may be there are chance that this be atkeast called a "cricket team", else its a bunch of brainless models (even some jerk can be) endorsing every availabe product. Give me the mantle.
currently our players are not the game seriously.they are only playing for money and ads.so it should be made very clear to them that no ads only cricket.and the amount they are paid should be performance based.no yearly contracts should be made.players should be selected according to their performance in the regional or club level matches and should be paid according to their performance.and for bcci,please look into the regional cricket more and try putting money in this sector.this will help india to get more sachins and more kapils for us.
We should not forget the 17 matches India initially won under Chappel/Dravid. We should also not forget that all those 17 were played against sides who failed to reach the ICC semifinals.
Just compare India's recent performance against the ICC semifinalists and you will know India's chances in the World Cup.
The only mantra is DISCIPLINE. 1) The selectors should call all the present team and tell them that if they do ot perform as per their potential-give them a task-be it a bowler or a batsman- in the next three matches - they would be summarily dropped-no influence will hold- be it political -the public who pay money will decide! 2) And during this time, not a single ad will be permitted, as nation pride is vry important and not individual profit. 3) Have a second line young team- like uttappa, gambhir, powar, and if a senior performs during these 3 matches , retain him. 4) Pay the players well, and tell them that they should not go for ad, at the cost of the nation's pride-I am sure they would agree, as our players need to be disciplined, not punished. 5) And finally, the selectors and officials should be honest to ensure that they back up the players and look at regional bias-Honesty must come from the top, and not from the top. 6) If we lose one or two series, does not matter, the new young team will perform-with the seniors we have not done anyway. Grat chapell should be given a great leave from his job and must be sent to australia where he can work in science lab. to do experiment. As he had taken out the most talented caption from team. INDIA NEED NO COACH LIKE CHAPPEL "CHAPPEL GO BACK"
