My opinionis, no matter what Gagnguly is any day by far a more accomplished batsman and a cricketer than people like Raina, Dinesh Mongia. He is not only a very good batsman but also is a very good thinker of the game. He brings so much more energy and aggresion to the side.
The team at present looks so dull and dead, all it needs is somebody who can bring back the fire in the team. If our selectors keep their egos aside and bring back Ganguly then we can avoid losing such a good cricketer in the mist.
It appears that Chappel was on a trial period initially for few months and he saw that India excels during that initial period 3 series wins. Now he is trying to destroy team India so that we loose the fame and power in ICC. Why to have a foreign coach who is not loyal ? We always loose very badly to any home country of our foreign coaches. We lost to Newzealand when John coached us and now loost to Australia when Greg is doing the job. The foreign coaches are loyal to their country not India?
I can't even guess what Sehvag ,Yuvaraj Singh,R P Singh,Munaf Patel & Dinesh Mongia doing in team. Robin Uttapha,Kumble,Zaheer,Laxman should be picked in. What's point in playing with Shreesant in only crucial matches & not letting him play all matches ?
Do the team really need / follow this "Trial & Error" method in batting order specially when they play for country? If we are picking even 3 batsmen (Tendulkar, Dravid,Sehvag) & batting all rounder (Yuvaraj,Kaif,Raina)who all are supposed to bat all these guys fail in a match why should we expect runs from the bowlers (Pathan)& wicketkeeper(Dhoni)?
The players need to be mentally strong for matches to come .
Bringing ganguly is very good 4 any team in the world.But make it happen requires a professional who is in HR Background.
So making a team win or loose is depends upon the teams integrity and motivation to play with each other.SO at last i want 2 say that team india itself is a worldclass team Each And Everyperson in the team are equal.And one morething Keep the players aside from the Ads which they do bcoz it makes their Cup of Tea without doing the hardwork they just using their starstatus and simply enjoying that.
Ban BCCI & Cricket for 5 Years or Payment based on performance then matches. Send under 19 team to international matches rather then senior team. All Senior Players like Dravid,Tendulkar, Shewag, Yuvraj,Irfan, Kaif, Mongia, Agarkar, Harbhajan should retire from internationl cricket if they want there country flag high.
India can still be one of the top teams in the world not only on paper. But for that there is a lot of thing which should be set right, and Chappel is the first thing in this. Selectors have given the right indiacation by picking Zaheer, now Chappel has to perform with the team that the selctors think is the best. Secondly we should hire or consult a good bollowing Bowling coach to improve our bowlers. Third players should be taught how to take responsibilities and win the game. It doesnt need a miracle to happen but systematic planning can take India to final of world cup. Chappel has to stop his deadly experiments with the batting position. Everyone knows that Irfan can bat and now there is no surprise element in sending him up in the order. Get people like Raina, Mongia on top and perform rather than lavishing in the 7th or 8th position. Give batsmen the responsibility for getting runs and bowlers for getting wickets. People having the caliber of Laxman, Kumble, Gambir, Badani are still waiting in the wings to get a opportunity, players who are getting the opportunity should always remember this.
