Dravid has successfully proven that he is not at all captainship material!! He may have the ability, but certainly lacks the instincts - Killer instincts that Saurav had! We definitely need Dada back in the team and not as a player, but again as the captain... With Wright as Coach and Ganguly as Skipper, we reached finals of most of the tournaments played... and now we are unable even to put up a decent fight back.. leave alone qualifying.. and stop dreaming about winning!! We don't need players who consider playing for their records, always failing to deliver in the times of pressure when they should be performing well... 'Such' players are simply wasting up a key player's position!! And the politicians are here to simply worsen the matters!! They do not care whether the team is losing or winning, but their outmost concern is whether they are making money or not.. in the name of the board though!! May Good LORD save our team and its pride!!
its really sad to know that our country is being governed by dirty politics in every aspect - where personal ego comes before national pride. shame on us.we only pretend to become indians on 15th aug and 26th jan. thats all.
mr. vensarkar too is following the footsteps of Joker More and co.he is too concerned about his post and not about india.i am sure he must be under tremendous political pressure in regard to the selection process. there have been so many suggestions regarding the team selection but it appears that none of the posted messages are being read by any concerned person.
how could they ignore ganguly again?is he so bad? is raina, kartick, mongia, jaffer, kaif are all better players than the proven champion -ganguly? come on guys, wake up.shame on us.
its funny to see kartick replacing yuvraj.strange!!! no body ( former players, commentators,etc)even mentions about ganguly.did they receive lot of money to remain silent?

Chappel did right thing by shuffling the players and batting order. But, he did not find the best combination in batting order. MS Dhoni would have kept as first order batsman.
Yuvraj - is a bad starter - but once he gets in - he usually gets a big one .. but he definitely needs to get his act together against top quality spin bowling & on slow tracks ..
So - summing up - India does have a chance - some changes are required - if ALL players are at their peak at the time of the world cup - then it is definitely possible !:) ..
contd..As for Ganguly - i don't know - but i do remember that he sacrificed his opening slot to Sehwag - only after which he lost his "form" and stopped performing -- With Sachin - he formed the hands down best opening pair .. I do believe he was a selfless captain, maybe he deserves another chance ("to GUMAO his shirt" maybe ?!) ...
Raina deserves a few more outings - check him out on the SA tour & then make a decision - I think during the Aus match - he got confused as to what to do - I think a clear message should have been sent to him when he went in - I think here again, Dravid's attitude could have been the problem - He "assumes" that at "this" level every one "knows" what to do - Again - he is wrong - Everyone does NOT know what to do - at ANY level (be it sport or business or whatever) - which is why there are leaders - & there are followers ! A leader is supposed to provide direction at EVERY level & not ASSUME anything ! Simply telling Raina what to do right from ball one would have spared him the agony of thinking about whether to try for singles or hitting out - or whether to play to keep his place in the team !
contd..maybe that way Ganguly probably had a ready boot for that ! Dravid imagines everybody is like him(capable & willing to learn)- which is untrue !
As for Chappel - he is trying wildly different ideas with training (such as "commando" training) - I think to an extent that type of stuff is ok - but i think concentrating on cricketing skills would do more good -
I liked a point made by Peter Roebuck in his column very much - He said - Instead of coaxing Sehwag to trim down - offer him "as many samosas as he wants" if he performs - I think this reflects a clearer understanding of Indian culture - rather than Chappel's. Maybe this might work !
Persist with Powar - I think he is a genuine off spinner - capable of doing good on all tracks !
Please dont play Pathan at number 3 all the time !! In fact his bowling has gone so bad - that his position in the team should be questioned real hard.
Bring back Balaji (if he is fit).
Retain Patel (he is pretty quick & uses his brain - I think the game against Aus - he may have been forced to play with injury ...)
Sreesanth is ok - but he needs to conserve his so called "aggressiveness" & convert it into performance .. contd...
I think the India team has crumbled under all the experimentation of Mr. Greg Chappell. Irfan Pathan for example has forgotten his primary role of a bowler. He should understand that he is training a INDIAN team and not Australian. All these experimentation needs to be stopped and seasoned campaigners should be brought back[Till the next world cup]. These include Saurav, Kumble and Zaheer. We should stop promoting players who have not gone through the domestic ranji level. These players come in to the team on the basis of one good performance and then struggle and fade out for never to return to the team. A certain Mike Hussey has played over 150+ first class games before coming into the Australian National Team. We should not count on Tendulkar to deliver in crucial matches as he has done that in a very few games in a very illustrious career. He should be continued till the world cup to create a few more records. Start a contract system whereby performance on the field will determine their paycheck.
