Team India can become world beaters if they stop concentrating professionally on endorsements and divert it to the game, although coaches cannot win matches ,Chappell miserably failed to deliver to instill good batting technics to the team.If we have a glance at recently concluded champions trophy the lone win against England is far from convincing.Forget about bowling for a while Chappell being great batsmen couldnot teach good batting technics to the team.Including Dravid who was regarded as The Great Wall of India seems to have lost his batting skills ,Dhoni,Pathan, and Raina are still boyish and there is no maturity visible in their batting.Simply playing lofted shots and scoring a fifty here and there will never win matches. As our Chairman of selectors rightly pointed there is shortage of talent in the team.Coming to World cup since we cannot replace Greg Chappel at this juncture its better he starts teaching the team atleast batting and since There is no Bowling resources which are penetrating, the onlw way is to strengthen the batting as in WEST INDIES the pitches are not much conducive to bowlers.
To make the india the world champions, india has to look at australian team or say look at west indies for instance today. these teams have their major no of player in mid thirties who are contributing to the wins of the team . It may be gilchrist , poynting, mcgrath ,martin, symonds, hogg, hussey or bracken. It is really the experience which counts today for australia.
Whereas our team is only looking after the youngster keeping out class acts saying that they are building team for the world cup. This may work for one or two series but to get good results consistently one must bring the experience of laxman, sourav, kumble, zaheer in to the team.
These are the match winner players. May be they are not athletic as other youngstes but surely they are class act in their own fields.
So if india wants good results in the time to come, then bring these players back.
I think unless we develop a scenerio from the grassroot level in each and every sport in India, we can't be a world beater. Politics everywhere creates a sense of ignorance to good players., and people who have access to the board can make way in the team. I feel it is very difficult for India to become a World champion in near future....................................
Well i honestly do not think Indian cricket is that good as to what it looks like ?

Take it as fact / not.The following are the real facts about indian team.
1.The team and players look good on paper. But in reality on ground they are neither consistent nor stringly professional nor Fighters.
2.Team players lack strong mental capability/Spirit of fighting.
3.Indian bowling needs to be ramped up.We still lack quality lethal fast bowlers like Brett Lee.
4.Our batsmen need to develop strong score chasing skills. To chase well one needs mental strength.
5.Team needs to stop boasting Tendulkar as god of cricket because he is not.He is a great player but he is overloaded with responsibility of delivering everytime.Others also need to contribute on a consistent level.
Quite difficult question but following are the points can bring some thing positive in near future -1. Sack Greg Chappel (who is with the intention to break the spinal chord of Indian cricket)
2. Drop players who are not consistent (like Autralian cricket) - i.e. if you want to stay in the team perform consistetnly.
3. Penalise players if in between series they are doing advertisement campaigns
4. Maintain the order of the players during batting -like a bowler is not suitable for a number 3 position (the most crucial position). This will spoil both the batting performance and the bowlers original job.
5. Ask both the team management and the players not to make politics with the game. This kills the the spirit of the game.
6. Do not give unnecessary hipe to the players beyond their original caliber and standard.
This messages are just to pull the Indian cricket from the well of death. The last message is also for each Indian (both lover and hater of cricket), because its us, the public who are responsible for the unnecessary hipes.
I love cricket from my heart and can't tolerate the "DOWN FALL" of the Indian cricket in such a fashion though the team was the number 2 once.
Team has back the players, we dont see that in the field. There is no agression, killer instinct, no professionalism.
Pitch was getting help for opening bowlers, not that our bowlers are bad they are very good munaf has fitness problem, cant throw the ball from boundary see Mcgrath, why we need players like munaf who is not fit. Pathan was bowling like he never bowled earlier not using the pitch at all which sreesanth showed putting heart and soul on evry ball.
Fast bowlers should be agressive and 100% fit, see Andrew Nel of SA.
Batsman, Sachin I am your fan, I would definitely tell when you play, will you make a big score or out cheaply by looking at your confidence on the day.
I dont know when you gonna achieve your dream of world cup win, this is a chance think what Aravinda did to sri lanka. This is your time, get all the pieces together like the old horse, be with the team and make plays.
Rahul and Greg did good job. Rahul you need to advise players with your knowledge.
you have to have 11commited players not those who feel secured of playing they should feel the pride to wear THE INDIAN CAP and should be in a feeling to fight for the nation only then there will be a change, not by changing the captian or the coach
