First of all, I am sending this comment as an NRI, so dont take it too close to your chest. We as Indians have taken cricket as a sport to epic proportions, thereby making players demi-gods. They dont deserve this much attention. I actually have a plan to scale down the importance of our players. When we show stats of players such as sachin or dravid, we need to provide a weighted average performance score, instead of a simple average. For instance, sachin will score a series of ducks against australia and then score a triple century against bangladesh, and his average still remains good. I propose that we introduce weighting scheme, which means a 100 against australia is a 100, a 100 aginst bangladesh is a 5. so the weighted average will be more close to reality.
Hope this makes sense to all our die hard cricket fans.
I bought the series in US and am watching almost all the matches. After watching the 4 matches (including the opener with SA/A) Many thing are wrong with Indians, things like technique on bouncy/pacy pitches, you can not build over night, but preparedness for bouncy pitches, adapting to conditions, basics like fielding, not bowling loose deliveries, not throw away your wicket, e.t.c so many unpardanable things are done by the players. Above all they are not showing the fight, they were showing an year ago, its OK to loose to a good side (after all only 30% of the games are won by visiting teams in SA, exception AUS). But you should fight. SHOW some courage. Non performing players Tendulkar, Sheavag, Mongia Raina, Agarkar (this guy is sick, he has no brain, bowls 5 balls for 2 or 3 runs and gives 4/6 in the last ball, he does this so consistantly)
Players who delivered goods: Zaheer, Kumble, Dhoni, Dravi
Players who are OK: Kaif (was unlucky on 2 occassions but gives his best) Karthik, Pathan, Let Non Performers go back to India and bring the ones who are scoring heavily, even if they did not play in SA, at least they are fresh and will have confidence.
i see the same future of indian cricket which is now of indian hockey!!! people will start saying "once upon a time india was among the good team and now no where in the competition due this that etc".......
I think india team needs a captain who can lead like a King. I hope Ganguly is the who can do it. If India team wants to score good in World then they should called back sourav..because he is the man Can change everything within a moment and should say Chappel to go back Australia.
Dilip Vengsarkar is the man can call back Ganguly. please Dilip do it without so much calculation.

I just wonder dont we have a better batsman than dinesh Karthik ? Is he better than Laxman and Dinesh Mongia . Who is choosing the final 11 . what are five bowlers doing in the line up when India is failing miserably in batting . 7 bowlers bowling for India and 3 are batting and one additional keeper in Karthik how can a team win ? .I think I can pick better 11 than who ever is doing that job ..Come on
A total waste on time and money being spent on cricket. Better to divert our attention on other sports that will give a Gold medal in Olympic. Players after the ad and the money from the media.
The whole nation should not be surprised with this result. Congratulations to the Indian team for having gone past 150 runs. Such a shameful performance in the series so far. I really wonder why am I hoping for an Indian victory at the start of any match.What a waste of time and hope.
since when did an abandoned match start to give full points to the team which is losing a series?????? or is it a consolation prize for india given by ICC???? The author has mentioned in the sub section, Overs 30-38.1 of the South African innings that South Africa has wrapped the series 3-1. Pardon, my ignorance, but did India win a match in the South Africa series??? They even lost the friendly. I think care should be taken before writing something like this
Even the greatest of students has to go back to the learning board. Give sachin a break. Rest of them, Sehwag, Dhoni dont learn from their mistakes, do they ? As for Karthik, Kaif and Jaffer, well they are pretty much goners now. This team can never win the world cup. Something is seriously wrong.
