don't blame the coach
by shaik moti on Nov 29, 2006 12:07 AM  Permalink

there is no meaning in blaming the coach. he is just out to give some tips. The effort must be made by the players in the team. That is a nice statement by wasim akram that sachin should be as providence as lara. Take away the politicians away from the sports.involving polticians would always cause problem in parliments as well as on the ground.

due to their involvement we aren't able to well establish ourselves in olympics and other events.

Coach is accountable for performance else why coach
by varghese on Nov 28, 2006 11:39 PM  Permalink

All football teams in the world fire coaches if they dont perform..

why pay for mr. greg if he is not able to motivate the same team that performed earlier not perform now..

its the same body except no motivation..

if it was some other nation greg would have been kicked loong time back..

Mr. Dravid is not a leader but a follower.. therefore Greg who is a dictator is liked by him..

Both have convenience in their minds not Indian Cricket.

WHat is the role of a Coach.. we bring in a coach to get better performance. We need to measure them by that..

Greg should resign or learn to work with leaders like Ganguly.. he should also apologise for doing him wrong..

Bring Ganguly in..

performance of Indian Cricket Team
by Manish Agarwal on Nov 28, 2006 11:31 PM  Permalink

Ban commercial advertisements and introduce performance based pay - this is the sole way to ensure proper performance from current India team. New players come, they show sparks of talent, then enter the ad world, make billions, and end up losing their cricket sheen: this in sum is the lot of current players. It is natural that a person makes effort when there is hunger for something: with good money coming their way, players are not hungry to show their talent (unfortunately, not a single player in the team thinks he represents the nation and the aspirations of its people, otherwise this would have never been the situation). Dravid's captaincy has also become hopeless. His strategy is always to play defensive and not attacking game: which is what separates him from Ganguly, as a captain. In the second one dayer, I think the turning point was when Dravid gave the ball to T'dulkar when opposition's six wickets were down. One wonders, why did he not give the ball to Zaheer Khan (most successful bowler of the day) or to his main bowlers. Givin the ball to T'dulkar only showed that he was more interested in making the opposition play 50 overs rather than bowl them out! A stupid act

Now Indians can start watching Cricket Ganguly in Greg out
by Wilson on Nov 28, 2006 11:26 PM  Permalink

With the news that Ganguly is being considered for the Indian team all Indians will now be proud to watch Indian cricket matches, because he makes Indian proud by being a fighting Indian.

Ganguly is a Fighter, something that is missing in the Indian camp now.. Greg has turned them into school kids who wait for instructions and not leaders on the field.Ganguly has strong leadership and thats the reason Greg eliminated him by telling cheap stories. When Sehwag said he misses Ganguly he was asked to shut up..It looks like whoever talks his heart out is out of the teaM.. therfore it looks like the Indian team is frightened and just going through motions with no natural flair left.

All know that aussies hate Ganguly because he doesnt give into their superiority, therefore Mr. Greg has natural reasons to get him out of the team..

Ganguly always said what he thinks and that should be applauded because it needs guts to express ones views especially when at the peak of success..We Indian are now more concerned in Seeing Indian Cricket Team Becoming a Fighting Indians Team rather than stupid experementing..SO OUT GREG u have had ur demoralising and political effcts..IN Ganguly

Bullxxxx
by sharath on Nov 28, 2006 09:20 PM  Permalink

All bullxxxx

Let this guy first set his game right and then talk about improvement in batting, setting high target, about Sachin or Dravid's absence in future, etc. It may so happen that he himself may not be around if he continues play such a careless and irresponsible manner!!

Joke
by Ashwinikumar on Nov 28, 2006 08:30 PM  Permalink

"I think he is a good coach. Under his coaching, our batsmen have improved a lot. He attends to technical issues and gives us good insight."

What's that supposed to mean? 91 all out and 156 all out.....?

Don't blame chappell
by ssd on Nov 28, 2006 08:20 PM  Permalink

I do not think Chappell should be blamed. I always wonder, why, in a country having 800 million population we cannot find all the 11 players 'all rounders'! Chappel is not wrong if he tried to make the players capable of playing in any position. But like political leaders, who try to make as much property and money during their tenor for themselves, though they are supposed to work for people, the cricketers try to make as much money as possible through advertisements and sponsorships, as they can, forgetting that they are representing the people of their country. Too much importance is given to pitches, weather, ball, its polish, etc. National players, who are supposed to be experts, should be able to play on any pitch & in any condition. What is the difference between them and 'ordinary' players like us then? I need not be a Sehwag to get out consecutively for low scores like zeros, fives or tens! Make a team of any ordinary people like me, I can also get out scoring a dazzling zero or score 10 runs by consuming 50 balls!
