Normally a pack has one joker but when you have a full pack of jokers, this nation shouldn't expect anything from the ongoing South African tour. And forget if you did have any fancy dream that India will win the world cup.
Call the whole team back and sent some untested youngsters who have nothing to fear.
An Indian cricketer is paid Rs. 160k everyday of play even if they lose. Team selection is political. The cricketers also work as models for motor bikes, cosmetics and health drinks to earn lavishly.. There is no need for them to play well.
Looking at todays performance, why sachin is there in the team inspite of repeated poor scores? If you can ask Ganguly to play in domastic cricket to prove his form, then why not the same rule to Sachin?Call him back and ask him to play in the Ranji trophy matches to prove his form.

The point should have been raised three months back. Anyway, the time has not been passed. Apart from Dravid, all other batsmen should be selected after good performance(s) in domestic cricket. This is what we can expect when politics rules over sports. Ganguly has been victimized by the Pawar-politics. Sachin and Shewag should be dropped immediately. Bring back anyone like Gambhir, Uttappa or Ganguly. I strongly believe they will make at least 10/15 runs whereas Sachin Shewag have scored only 2! Dhoni also should learn the responsibility; he is not a joker to entertain the people. He had to stick to the end as Kemp and Hall did. He thought, I've made my contribution by scoring 55! He forgot the target India was chasing. Dravid is a failure again as a captain. Leadership is a separate quality that can't be practised. It is in born. You can make more sharp this virtue, cannot learn. Sachin also was good batsman but a weak leader. Now Laxman has been brought back. One good batsman without practice can't compensate the failure of 6/7 off-form colleagues. Let's see.
Eventhough India has captured the top 7 South africanwickets for 136 runs in 35 overs, the 2 batsmen at the crease at that time produced equal number of runs in the remaining 15 overs without loosing any wicket.
Eventhough both thhe batsmen plaued good cricket, it gives a wrong signal for Indian bowling in the final session which is crucial. Moreover loosing Sewagh and Tendulkar early for 0 and 2 leave only a miracle to save the match. To score 278, at least 2 of the top order batsmen should score heavily which never happened. It is high timr that all the players understand their responsibility,(national pride is at stake) eventhough it is only a sport but is has such a mass follow up back in the homeland and bring the winning habit. As a wishful follower WISHING THE TEAM GET ALL LUCK TO PLAY WELL AND WIN OR AT LEAST PLAY GOOD CRICKET TO SALVAGE THE PRESTIGE.
South Africa has already won this ODI as expected. medai people Aaztak, Sahara Samay and HT guys are are already doing their jobs of blasting indian team. Let us (Rediff Readers) get started also..
Seriously speaking, there is no short-term solution to this problem i.e. sacking Rahul or Chappel or brining back Laxman and Ganguly. I think BCCI should have plenty of bouncy and seaming pitches with domestic cricket played on those pitches.
Also there should be some kind of control on player's involvement in advertisement and publicity.
Where is rain god where are you you saved the humilationin in sri lanka and first one day god please come come we will stop drinking cola promise we will drink rain water only my god please come
past one year team india not playing good, except in patches. better to forget about the ongoing one day series against SA, sure it will be 4-0 for South afrikans. Let the better players win instead of the team having players too busy busy with advertisement. What about the experienced Sachin, where is his form, can't he play atleat 10 to 20 overs. Poor Dravid having a team with club class bowlers and fickle minded batsmen. Only the Almighty has to save Indian team from this drowning form.
Dear Team India - Go to basics, no four or Sixer required, try, stay and wait for the moment to hit.
May be we should send our U-19 side to South Africa. Somehow it seems the national side has simply lost the formula for winning. The people running the show are much smarter than I am, but one thing even I don't understand is how come so many smart brains can't seem to find a winning 11?
