Ricky is the Best Batsmen
by Roshni on May 01, 2009 05:35 PM  Permalink

If Ricky Ponting continue to play well I am sure that he will beat Sachin Tendulkar's record. He is the Evergreen Batsmen and always the Best.

Lara and Ponting will overtake Sachin for sure
by bk venkatesh on Nov 24, 2006 02:31 PM  Permalink

Sachin is in bad form in tests and against South Africa he has tough challenge from the bowlers of pace and bounce- Ntini, Nel and Pollock. It is easier series for Ponting who is facing weak English attack and Lara facing Pak attack without Asif, Shoiab and Sami. Lara and Ponting will overtake Sachin but it may be just for now.

Ponting to become highest century maker
by nicholas moses on Apr 12, 2006 05:25 PM  Permalink

I think that Ricky Ponting will eventually brake Tendulkers recoerd becaues Tendulker is badly out of form, making a century every 10 matches, getting them against Bangladesh and zimbabwe and his average is getting lower and lower. Then on the other side there is Ricky Ponting. He is scoring a cantury every 3 matches, scoring twin centuries, his average getting higher and higher and he is getting his centuries against top teams like South Africa and Sri Lanka. it is only as matter of years maybe even months before Ponting takes the record.

Sachin's record eclipsed
by Sahil Madan on Jan 12, 2006 09:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Records are made to be broken. But the class of an individual player cant be broken.Sachin's class is unique from others.Even if his record is broken in next 2 years,he would be the Batting Maestro of Cricket which cant be neglected.

PONTING CAN.....IF
by Suraj T Rajan on Jan 11, 2006 05:49 PM  Permalink

I believe that Sachin is a great player but when it comes to performing against very good sides his record doesnt show that.I beleive thaT Sachins record will be broken if he is not able to reinvent and modify his game as to other modern players like Hayden & POnting have done...
In the present lot they have a very good chance of eclipsing Sachins record IF following conditions prevail....

1)Sachins poor form continues along with his unknown injuries for another couple of years
2)Ricky continues his very good form and reinvents himself like his former captain Steave Waugh whose last 8-10 years have been outstanding and incomparable with any other contemporary players of this generation.
3)Australia continues to play more tests compared to India.

I think these will be the most important factors in next 2 years so as to say who will emerge the winner.

But i stil belive that "FORM IS TEMPORARY AND CLASS IS PERMANENT"...... and according to LAW OF AVERAGES....SACHIN has to fire in the coming months.

Sachins Form
by Manish on Jan 11, 2006 03:22 PM  Permalink

Sachin is past his prime..everyone can see that his timing is not there, comfort level is missing at crease, and he is striving to make even 1 or 2's. At this rate centuries are now tough nut to crack for him...whereas Ponting,Hayden and Lara, almost score and smash at will...also at critical times...where Sachin always falters. Unless cricket Board immediately come to his rescue, and quickly arrange matches with Kenya,Bangladesh,Zimbabwe etc...his record is sure to fall more sooner than we expect.
He must retire now, as still he is at his peak record wise, and not face the music as Mr. Ganguly.
There are more ways for him to contribute to Indian cricket, and end of the road is in sight for him.
