In my veiw there is something wrong might have happened in the feild or in dressing room between team mates, captain or manger or coach. We the peaople specially the media is giving more weihtage to the cricketers and putting them on our heads and this is the reason cricketers are forgetting how to behave with the public and their seniors.

further the team management should openly disclose the reasons and should not say due injury or due to bad form the player is being kept out of game/match.

Why to debate?
by Samir on Dec 26, 2006 12:14 PM  Permalink

Let us give importance to the performance rather than appearance in the team. Why non-performing player should be in the team at the cost of performing player.
Let us keep INDIA at the top of the mind and NOT THE CONFIDENCE OF THE PLAYER. Let nobody take their livelihood for granted? Let every person understand their level at some time.
It is a good thing to call the non-performing player back but AT THEIR COST.

Its absolutely wrong. Indian team should carry youngsters like pathan who has proved himself in the past to emerge as the best promising all rounder of the world even though there is a temporary loss of form rather than giving chances to old and hackneyed players like Ganguly.

No, this is not good for the Indian team.
by Mohammad Iqbal on Dec 26, 2006 12:12 PM  Permalink

This will definately demoralize the players, there are other ways to handle this type of situations. One of the best option is that the board can deduct the match fee of the non performers.

The great THUD
by partha biswas on Dec 26, 2006 12:12 PM  Permalink

The more famously you rise, the more infamously one tends to fall. And the Kangaroo, instead of concentrating on the MAIN strengths of Pathan, made him a hero, where least needed. He is an excellent bowler, his main claim to enter Team India, and he has now failed as what? All-rounder,makeshift batsman
bowler or what? And why not Shewag be sent back? And the HOO HAA we have made of ONE solitary victory in SA didnot require the attention."BOXING DAY" starts today, and lets see how Team India shapes up.

it is good for pathan
by ganesh on Dec 26, 2006 12:09 PM  Permalink

There is nothing wrong or danger with the board's decision of sending pathan back to domestic circuit. In international level he may be under lot of pressure to perform but in the domestic level pressure won't be that level so he can work out the basics and he can bring back his rhythm.
