Was it right to send Irfan back? - Yes
by K Balaji on Dec 26, 2006 12:41 PM  Permalink

It was right to send Pathan back. He is basically a bowler who can also bat. It would do no good to his morale if he is included in the next two tests and does not perform well with the ball. He needs to get back to his basics. If he is back among wickets in the domestic matches, he can very well claim his place as an all-rounder in the team.

what shattering of a morale ? even sewage should be sent back the same way.... where does morale of indian players go when they are busy in modeling instead of practise.

Why not Sehwag and Tendulkar
by Vikas on Dec 26, 2006 12:40 PM  Permalink

If pathan can be sent back home in the middle of tour to search form, then why can't sehwag and tendulkar. These two have not done anything in this tour and they deserve to go back to domestic cricket rather than pathan. I think someone should be there to ask the selectors about all this shitttttttttttttt

sending irfan back
by venkatesh on Dec 26, 2006 12:38 PM  Permalink

the subject has both pros and cons, but as a matter of fact for lack of not taking wickets or scoreing runs one should not be taken lightly. Irfan has great potential and in any sports there is always ups and downs. Here is a player who has shown his capabality and potential time and again as a bowler and batsman.

Since he has not played to his strength that does not portray his incompitance. He should be given moral support and exploit his talent to the fullest. Singleing him alone does not serve any purpose. What about Sachin, Dravid, Virender and Dhoni! have they played to their capacity and why should they not be sent back to play domestic cricket? Today we have Sreeshat, Munaf, Zaheer and so we do not need the services of Irfan! Isnt it unfair on the part of the BCCI. Dont demoralise the player by judging him in a match or two? Do give him moral support and utilise his serives

Is it right to send Irfan back?
by MRS Mani on Dec 26, 2006 12:37 PM  Permalink

NO !! firstly this is unprecedented!!.
Secondly if u ur sending Irfan back on grounds of poor form, then why not also Sehwag who is also in the same boat.
Reason that Irafn's playng in Domestic circuit will help him regain his lost form also doesn't hold enough water. Player of calibre of Dravbd should know this very well before making statement to the nation.
Soemthing is grossly wrong somewhere -is politics creeping in ..
MRS Mani.

no is not good
by mahendara on Dec 26, 2006 12:37 PM  Permalink

I think its not good to return the pathan ,

as per our indian team situation is not good all players are not able to show there performance in one day match

on that basis if they sending back to pathan its i think nothing worse than this ,as compare to other he atleast

show his performance in batting also ,i think on the place of him they have to send back to sehwag .i think they have to justice well,

Irfan Pathan sent back to india
by Sanjay on Dec 26, 2006 12:36 PM  Permalink

Yes, this is the right decission by the cricket management to sent back Pathan to india due to its poor performance. If some body has to remain in the team than he has to perform well and has to pay for India.

But, why pathan only and no action on others. such as Veru,. Even sachin has also told that due to his age he is finding it difficult to play in form. As management made any strateg on this. Are they finding any opening batsman to fill his place?.

hmmm its our style
by Mannan on Dec 26, 2006 12:36 PM  Permalink

when all our players are in very good form, its right to send irfan back home as his form is not in par with indian teams , which is in good nick.

see shewag he made 100 in allthe matches he palyed and he is touching 1000 runs this tour

2. sachin waht a double centuary he made twice in onedayer and his seniority which won first test.

3. dravid could not get out at all in any matches he paled .

4. harbajan wah he is just short of warne .

5. wasim bhai made gr8 acivement in all form of game in south africa.

6. dhoni . fastest 100 and 10 catches in each match

7. kumbe , srisant who took hatrick twice

all are in good nick excpet pathan who just reamined not out twice in same match 100 and 40 not out . but it was practice match . he was rightly sent back :)))))

Right to send Irfan back
by Nilesh Barai on Dec 26, 2006 12:36 PM  Permalink

It is right to send Irfan Pathan back to play domestic cricket so he can gain his form back like Zahir Khan.

But I am very disappointed that Mr. Chappel (coach of Indian team) could not help him out.
