Definitely not. This will lose his morale. Any player if sent back on loss of form in midst of a tour other than on disciplinary ground would do no good. We have seen too many changes in batting order, swaping the position indescriminatley, with the result most of the batsmen finding it difficult to adjust. It was all done in the name of experimentation. No team in the world has done the kind of experimentation Chappel Dravid combination have done. The result is, we are in a mess. Even if the move was best intentioned, this is not justified because people like Sehwag and Jaffer are still finding place in Indian Team. Does not this apply to Pathan? I recall Vengsarkar staying when he landed in SA, that no player would be sent back home. He will have to eat his words now, for whatever reasons he has uttered those words in from of the media. Although we won the 1st Test, we are still in a mess. I have respect for Dravid as a great Batsman, but as a leader his position in the team is arguable. Pathan is a fantastic player and let us hope he will find his position in the team like Ganguly and Zaheer.
It was a wise and correct decision for both Pathan as well for the team. Pathan is great found for the team and he is exceptionally great palyer, no doubt in that and we need him in the world cup. What at present he is going through is only lack of confidence so it will be good for him to play some domestic cricket get back the confidence... and I am sure he will do and there is no doubt in his cability
i dont understand y? actually wassim jaffer, shewag & sachin should be called back, irfan is not to be called back bcoz instead of concentrating on bowling, every body misguided him on the other side and made him loose his forum. selectors & bcci are out of their mind,
I don't think it was right to send Irfan back.Afterall some 'surrounding sources' were partially responsible for this state of his. But since this decision has been taken it would be appreciable if his team, coach and management support him through encouraging words and so and ensure that he comes back stronger. I have got my fingers crossed.
what mr More was doing i.e overlooking the veterans and telling that he nurtures young blood, dillip is doing the same but opposite. how he is telling that experienced to say and a 21 yr bright all round prospect should come back. its a tragi-comedy. just use them and throw them in dustbin if they are a bit down just like a condom. Mr vengsarkar, its not the right manner to treat an all rounder like this. see the case of Mc. Grath they have recalled him without any flutter, even shoaib's case. what u r doing man just dumping pathan in the dumpyard. it will hell break his morale, just keep in mind. has Ganguly performed in the domestic cricket after eviction? it hurts India in the long run.
i think this will definetely damage the morale of the player he is a player of such a caliber and treating like this is not first time in indian cricket i think those thinktang in selection board should quit thier jobs and look for some other. They don't know how the player feels it because they are not accustom to it
it is the right move. When we have persons performing good, then there is no need to keep the upcoming players unused. It is good to play in the ranji to get some confidence and form.
I blv Irfan has been sent back to domestic cricket so that he could be back in Intl cricket.
This is a tricky situation as every one knows that he is talented. But again talent without performance is of no use.
WHen it comes to the question of confidence I blv team management and the selector on tour must have spoken to him and promised him that he would be part of the team in the next serious and should have asked him to get back to the domestice criket and do the introspetion on his bowling.
