I think it will be more appropriate to send back non-performers like Dravid & Shewag instead of fiddling with the confidence of a youngster like Pathan. It\'s in this time of bad patches that they need the team\'s support more badly than ever. However, the seniors like Shewag and Dravid need some discipling lesson. Especially Dravid to taste his own medicine which he managed to give to Ganguly.
I think only time will tell whether this was the "right" or "wrong" decision. I guess Irfan was sent home so that he could do some thinking and go back to the basics, and its upto him to prove that he still is the best bowler in the team. And yes it has never been done before, it does not mean that it is a crime to do it.
If the criteria to send back a player back to his home is same then First Virendra Sehwag should be sent back because failure of Virendra sehwag is more than Patahn. Since pathan has been our strike bowler and also he has batted well in last few innings. he should have been tried some more time.
I think it was right. Instead of making him to sit in the dressing room and watch the cricket, it is better to send him back and ask him to regain his form by playing cricket. Because by sitting in the dressing room, one cannot regain form rather it will lead to further frustration in the bowler.
He should take this as an opportunity to comfirm his berth for World Cup. He should take some tips from Saurabh, when the entire world was against him, he believed in himself and made a comeback. That too in a fabulous way.
So, I wish him best of luck for his and India's Future cricket.
I dont think only pathan has to be sent back.Entire Indian team has to be called back and should not allow to play furthur unless they have all the sources with them to win. People are just making these cricketers rich for nothing.
