A perfect example of spoiling a gem !!!
by Dhaval Vyas on Dec 26, 2006 03:04 PM  Permalink

No way, the wise bunch of selects should have dropped him for the test squad in case they don't have any faith in Irfan. This will adversely affect his morale and by sending him back, his pride is at stake...

If anybody wants to know how to spoil a gem like Irfan, then ask Guru Greg and his obidient student Dravid. Nice (???) way to break the confidence of a rare product like Irfan.

Grave Injustice done to this Gujarat Talent
by INDIANCRICKETLOVER on Dec 26, 2006 03:03 PM  Permalink

This was the most shameful injustice done to a cricket talent after Sourav Ganguly. Since, Pawar has taken over the cudgels of BCCI all non-Mumbai & non-Maharashtra cricket talents are facing the AXE regardless of how well/talented they are. Why wasn't W.Jaffer dropped or who wants a spent force like Munaf Patel in the team at the cost of a GENIUS like Pathan. This proves that including Pawar in B.C.C.I was to cement Mumbai's & Maharashtra's ever notorious and shameful QUOTA as through ages.We should bring back Jagmohan Dalmiya, who had brought glorious cricket to India. Sharad Pawar is not fit to run crikcet....he is just eyeing BCCI money after HAWALA and Maharashtra.Bring BACK PATHAN!!! BRING BACK PATHAN!!

Irfan Pathan
by sonnapureddy gurunatha Reddy on Dec 26, 2006 02:56 PM  Permalink

Sending Irfan back so that he can play some domestic cricket is a good decision. It allows him to regain confidence and come back with full force. The Board should implement such measures so that the players will be accountable and much more focussed than they are today.

Rules should be common
by Prem on Dec 26, 2006 02:38 PM  Permalink

The rules should be the same for each and every player no matter how senior they are.The judgement should not be based on their cuurent performance for some players and based on their previous performances as old as 10 years for some other players. In that case the so called Master Blaster who has become a Plaster Blaster should have been asked to sit at home LONG LONG LONG BACK.

Absolutely
by Dennis on Dec 26, 2006 02:35 PM  Permalink

Getting hit for 74 runs in 11 overs against a club side...he is in poor shape as a bowler. Aslo, his record with the bowl has been pathetic n SA. Instead of resting and carrying drinks there, he should play in Ranji and try to get back to rhythm for a likely place in WC.

Was it right to send Irfan back?
by raju on Dec 26, 2006 02:32 PM  Permalink

Yes. First the BCCI has taken correct decision. All the players who are out of form should play the domestic cricket..Once they prove their form, then only they should be choosen to play for India.

One more theing , this thing should be done for all non performing players like Virendra shehvag,Wasim Jaffer, Harbajan singh, etc.
