its worst decision
by aravind on Dec 26, 2006 09:50 PM  Permalink

its worst decision.....

I hope pathan lost confidance in his bowling for last 3-4 months........he's trying to get back his old bowling skills but he came to a understanding that to be in a team he need to perform either with bat or ball......

This is the reason why he's trying to improve his batting skills than bowling skills.........

At this moment,it is not right decision for him to send back to home.......(keep in mind that he can bat well........just see in practice match when everyone failed he made a century in fast bowling pitches......this is not enough..he played well in many matches when entire team failed).............

see styris has come into team as a bowler in newzealand team and got settled as important(at no.4) player in their team...........why can pathan stay in india as a batsman.......and try improve his bowling skills.....a good bowling coach will defnitely improve his bowling skills.

its not right
by Mohan on Dec 26, 2006 09:27 PM  Permalink

first of all is pathan a allrounder or bowler??

if allrounder, he is batting better than anyone else in our current team, so he can be used as a allrounder dont expect him more than that. They also need to send sehwag and jaffer.

if bowler, its a right decision.

Pathan
by Amit on Dec 26, 2006 09:17 PM  Permalink

It was a right move by the team management by sending Pathan back home. Pathan will get an opportunity to gain back his form and confidence at the domestic platform. It's really disheartening to see some of our top players not being tested on the domestic front. Zaheer Khan and Ganguly have surely benefited by playing some domestic cricket.

Sehwag has been given plenty of chances to prove himself, yet he has fallen short. Why wasnt Gambhir given a chance to play the 2nd test, is beyond my imagination. The treatment both Zaheer and Ganguly had received had revived their careers. This kind of a shock treatment is necessary for some of our senior players, particularly Sehwag.

With that, I want to wish Pathan the best, and hope he finds his lost form.

Was it right to send Irfan Back?
by Puneet Shrivastava on Dec 26, 2006 08:59 PM  Permalink

I consider it as a very positive move by selectors. I believe they have great expectation from Irfan and wants him to gain his confidence back by participating in Domestic cricket. Selectors would be crossing their fingures to see him perform so that his services can be availed of in World Cup. They got to have an all rounder like Irfan in their World Cup team

Personal opinion on Pathan's removal from current squad
by SATRUJIT MOHANTY on Dec 26, 2006 08:53 PM  Permalink

It is obviously a good decision by team management a promosing player like Pathan must not feel loosen heart & not shattering their confidence also but find sufficient time to practice in domestic match to regain his self confidence and mentally prepare for next year's world cup at Westindies. He should have learn a lession from Mr Sourav Ganguly who is excellent perform in current series.

About Irfan Pathan
by PROF. ABDUL MUNAF MUKRI on Dec 26, 2006 08:52 PM  Permalink

It is very disgustint to sent back Irfan Pathan just for sack that, he is out of form for time being.

It happen first ever in Indian cricket history.

It will definately loose morale of the player and for a Good faster bowler, it is easy to gain form on Fast track of South Africa.

On the other hand can selectors explain me why not Mr. Virendra Sehwag and so Called Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar doing on the tour without any form and without any extra ordinary display.

In future save the future of young talents by not sending back.

Thanx.
