Pathan has proved his alround ability more than once in Australia, Pakistan etc. However, primarily as a bowler, he should have dominated. As he is not able to find his rhythm, it is very good that he is sent back to play in domestic cricket and rediscover his basics. Sachin and Sehwag do not necessarily come in picture. Don't compare Pathan with these two.
it is not good in sending irfan back because for world cup he is the one of the best bowler.when he is in the good form he use to take 5 to 6 wickets so get him back to the indian team
poeple should understand that he was sent back to play ranji matches instead of wasting time sitting as a reserve.he is a good batsman but present batting line up should not be messed up.he can try and improve his bowling.his batting is excellent at present,if he can take out time and improve upon his bowling, india can have a fine alrounder in its ranks.irfan has in him to become the best.
From one angle it is correct to have sent back Irfan for his continued failure as a bowler when he has been primarily picked into the team as a bowler.
But on the other hand one can only laugh at the policies of the so called think tanks considering the fact that Irfan is the only batsman to score a century in this tour, that too when Indian batting has been going through a rough patch for qiute a while now.
If you consider the current form, Irfan should have been retained as a batsman and one of Sehwag / Jaffer / Tendulkar should have been sent back.
The Indian team and management has a high regard and expectations from Pathan, knowing his talent. It definitely is a right move, as they are not dumping him but keeping him on the run to be competent and confident. As Vengasarkar himself said, Pathan will come back soon and come back better. It should be starting of a good precedent and it should not end with Pathan. Sehwag, Dhoni and if required Dravid should follow him too. You should send them away from playing 11, not for the sake of meaningless experimentation, but to challenge themselves and to keep them confident, competent and waiting to prove in every opportunity they get!!
I think this is d best thing that cud hav happened 2 Irfan.....Instead of having him sitting idly in d pavilion, the selectors hav done the right thing by sending him back for match practice. It can only improve his skills....there is nothing as gud as match practice....Once he makes his presence felt in d Ranji,he can b back with the confidence lacking in him now.....The team needs him in form desperately not only 4 d World Cup but also beyond......I also think dat Sehwag can b asked 2 play domestic matches 4 a while too.....But such a thing cant b done 2 Sachin coz his contribution 2 d team n win stretches beyond scoring runs or taking wickets....I again say dat Irfan must consider himself lucky......he has been out of form 4 quite long but still d team carried him.....This shows d confidence d management has in him....Its all 4 d best!
by such action sending player back to the country is not the right decision, simply because he is out of form, there are other players too who are not performing well, such as sachin, sehwag why selection committee not sending them to play domestic cricket tournament as well.
If Pathan is sent back for loss of form than why not Virender Sehwag?. This will surely get the confidence of the player down. Even if he is not selected for the final 11 he would have been allowed to be present in practice sessions etc.
