There is rule for a person and it should be followed strictly despite the person will perform better in next match or not. Take the Case with ganguly, like how was been kept a side, the same thing should be done for sehwag and make him to play more domestic cricket. This will create the fear among the existing members in the team and can further contribute more towards indian cricket.
i think its right decision, for the future of irfan pathan because its good to play domestic cricket inspite of resting in the dressing room. And sehwag also need same tritment because Ganguly and Zaheer is a best exmple of this tritment, who got there form back in domestic sesion, and doing well today for Team India.
Sending irfan pathan back home to play Ranji matches and get some match practise is a good move by the selectors. Now they should be good to virendra sewhag as well.without wasting much time ....the selectors and the team management should send sewhag to celebrate New year 2007 in India and make him play as many Ranji matches as possible. This move will do lot of good for him and to the Indian cricket as well.
Its never too late to send some shock waves through the nerves of those so called MEN IN BLUE, who were preoccupied with the fact (before ganguly was chucked out of the team) that getting a blue cap is tough and even tougher is to get out of the team. Enough damage has been done to Indian cricket by BCCI. I would love to see Sehwag, Jaffer and even Dhoni to be booked in the very next flight available after the second test ends. Let them concentrate on cat walking sessions and the money they get for that. let us send a message to our future generations that it is much tougher to get in, survive and flourish in indian team than that is for the yougstres in Australia or South Africa. Every one who stands the other side of this decision should ask themselves a question,"Can't a nation of over a billion cricket mad population produce 15 world champions?".
In indian cricket history it was the first incident that a player sent back to home due to low performance. This action loses the confidence of the players. It was very bad to send Irfan back to home.
The way ehwag is getting out these days, he should himself opt out of the third test. If not the selectors should send him back to India to correct his failings. In spite of so many failures, he continues to flirt with those off stump deliveries. The other big chink in his armor is the yawning gap between bat and pad. It is as big as the India Gate. Sehwag needs to return to basics and get back to form and in to shape before World Cup. Along with Pathan he is our main Match-winner and India can't afford to lose either of them. It is time our Cricket crazy public too shows some restraint and allow our out of form guys to gain in confidence! Raj
It is a matter of shame that the same player who was making history in the begining of the year and maing the country's name on the top list, is sending back home for not performing. If it is so why not we take a bold step and send back Tendulkar and Sehwag, not only they performed poor all through the year they are also not capable enough to play the South african fast bowlers. It was Pathan who made nice hundred in a first class match in South Africa just before the start of the test series there in Africa.
And if this would be a new rule then first and foremost we should make a rule for coach as well, who always disappointed at each and every time and put Indians always down with his poor skills.
I request on behalf of thousands of Indians that we should once again think in this regard coz this will certainly down the morale of Pathan who is one of the best alrounder of India...
hi i want to clear that in first match vrv singh done nothing and in second also he has taken only one wicket.he cant do batting like pathan.i think irfan pathan can also take one wicket and we can beleve on batting also.pathan is making 50 n above 50 and our top order batting order not in form so his run can change situation of any match.
If BCCI thinks that Pathan will do better if he plays a couple of Ranji matches , then yes its a good decision. But BCCI should have a close watch on pathan.
He is a key player in both forms of the game.
BCCI do whatever we want him back as the old Pathan.Do not ignore him.
Sehwag/Jaffer are no good. Please drop both of them.Gautham/Uthappa/Akash chopra would be better options.
