It is good move by the BCCI selection panel. Infact a bold move. This should be applicable to all the player, no matter of which calibre they are. A strong message like this should have been sent out earlier, i.e., Non performers doesn't belong in this team. Get back to basics and come back. However, I would like to see Sehwag in the list of passenger who are going to board the flight back home. He really needs a firm Handling, forget his triple or double hundreds, what this team needs a dependable and solid player, why resting Gambhir, when this player is failing consistently. No logic. I would've said the same for Jaffer, but he applied himself well yesterday, seems getting back to find the middle spot of his bat. But as for Sehwag, I personally like him but needs to be handle firmly.
I dont see place for sachin, rahul and kumble and other non-performers in the forthcoming worldcup. No matter whatever may be past performance of a player, just show them door. Indian cricket team is become like govt. department where even non-performers are also paid monthly salaries and other benifits. Just kick them out
Hi... Not even a single batsman performed in the entire South african series. It has been one of the worst years in the history of Indian Cricket. Why not send all of them back. Start from scratch, leave the 5-Star status & compete to win a place in the Indian Cricket Team. All the Indians perform for themselves, they will perform once they have to win a place in the team. After all millions of dollars worth of advertisement revenue is at stake.
It would be a good question to ask; when was the last time Tendulkar played for an Indian Win.
ok i agree with you, he is not performing these days. it is justifiable to send him back to home. But the big question is why this policy is not applicable to sehwag? Last couple of years he has been the burden to the team india.
Sehwag is also not performing well so he should also accompany Pathan. If Tendulkar also fails another time he should accompany them both. The message should be that anyone who does not perform will be sent home. No bias no mercy. Even if the player is senior he should be sent home.
Yes, why not, Selectors should have sent Sehwag back to play in domestic cricket. He is failing consistently in one-day as well as Test. Any he is NOT fit for Test Cricket.. Then why there are double standards from the selectors. I could not understand..This is the time for selectors to crack down on the individuals who does not perform if India is thinking for World Cup..or just say 'Good Bye to World Cup'
Pathan desrved to have been sent back coz if seen our Indian players are concentrating more on advertisements least realising that they are cricketers and are representing our country. They are more keen on making money all the time via Adverts.
Otherway Round I feel Pathan should concentrate on his bowling which seems to be absoultely pathetic these days. Moreover Indian Players, i.e. young lads joining team feel they are top players least realising when playing against top teams they get beaten for runs and when playing against weak one's they perform in top slots.
Overall I feel Advertisements using Crickets as Brand Ambassadors and anchors should be banned and once this is done performance would be optimum as all their time would be purely for cricket and not for advertisement.
It is shame for our country which has had legends like Sunil Gavaskar / Dilip Vengserkar / Ravi Shastri & Kapil dev to have been led down by the present indian team which is just for money and fame and not for the country.
SHAME ON INDIAN CRICKET TEAM AND BCCI FOR POOR SELECTION.
