Was it right to send Pathan back.
by Behram Daruwalla on Dec 28, 2006 01:54 PM  Permalink

Dear All,

First and foremost if Pathan has been sent back for non performance, truly, more than half this team should be returning as well. Since this is not the case there is more than what meets the eye as they say.RIDER: Our team management on the whole also needs total replacement. What we need is fit athletic sportsmen who are committed to the sport and think about country and the sport and are absolute proffessionals. There is very little room for politics here. Try this formula and we will be winners always.

Viru should be send back
by Parimal on Dec 28, 2006 01:39 PM  Permalink

I agree to the fact that Viru should also be send back and asked to play in the domestic matches.

Same yard stick shold be applied to all.

Anyways Irfan up and downs are part of any carrier ...so long as you take it in positive spirit and work on your limitations or the flaws that have crepi in nothing can stop you from making it back to the Team India.... All the best

next it should be Shewag
by ahamed sharif on Dec 28, 2006 01:26 PM  Permalink

If some one is a non-performer, he is a white elephant, and the burden should be released. Next Shewag should follow.

Was it right to send Irfan back
by THARSIS S LEON on Dec 28, 2006 01:01 PM  Permalink

It is a right step. Each and every one of the players should be given a strong message that none would be spared from such a tratment keeping the utmost importance of form and consistency. It is more saddening to know that Pathan is if treated rightly why should BCCI be wrong with Virender Shevag. In my opinion, he should be preferred over Pathan in this treatment. However, the step taken is a healthy trend and should continue and should be applicable to all without any bias.

very surprising fact for ciricket lovers
by navneet thakur on Dec 28, 2006 01:00 PM  Permalink

i think it would be good to sent back wasim jaafer or virender sehwag inspite of Irfan Pathan becose Pathan is a very good player. it is true that he is not firing by ball but i think in other segments of the game batting, fielding he was quite good. he has perfromed good on batting and fielding side. but what we can do about wasim jaffer or verender sehwag. they are in team as specialist batsman but both are not performed good in any match against south africa in any area of game.

in my opinion it was a big mistake in Indian cricket Hinstory.
