I think it is a right move. It is clear that Pathan is not gonna get any action in the 3rd test. There is a domestic match coming up for Baroda,which presents an opportunity for Pathan to bowl in the middle.Any person who has played cricket at any level would agree that bowling in the middle is the "real deal". Talks about this move denting Pathan's confidence is misplaced.Bowlers should have an inbuilt temperament to bounce back from adversities.A bowler may get hit for 2 consecutive sixes but he should have the belief that he can come back because he has another 4 deliveries to go in his over. In a similar way,Pathan should take this in his stride,look at the years ahead of him and win his place back in the team.He doesn't have to look further than Zaheer Khan for inspiration.If he doesn't have the "bounce backability", maybe he doesn't deserve to be a bowler in the highest level
yes it is right to send irfan back since he is out of form and i think chappel him self spoiled irfan.
continuously he lifted him to sky without giving any oppurtunity to irfan to realise his capabilities and how best make use of them he is still amaeture in th field .he has to psychologically withstand the media and all boosting
After seeing him in ODIS so called BCCI THINKTANK should not selected Pathan for the tests. If it was for his batting then he should have been in as batsman.It is not mandatory that he should be chosen only as bowler. Anyway they have sent him back and by doing so they have insulted their own decision to select Pathan and proved their stupid point that non performers will be sent back.
Pathan's return to India is a retrograde move for Indian cricket. The youngsters- Irfan, kaif, Juv Raj, are talented and promising. BCCI should try to get best out of them and not to shove them. Sehwag was a new find in international cricket, perhaps he needs to change his style and stance. Great Batsman Greg should help him, or call up Zaheer Abbas who gave a new lease of life to Md. Azharuddin in the past. Let BCCI work hard than sleeping and letting things move on its own. Irfan is a great phenomenon. Let us not forget it. Kumarendra Mallick
instead of bearing player like Sachin,Sehwag,vrv singh obviously Pathan would have been an asset in both ways as an all rounder.and remember he was send after superb knocks in the warm up matches.this will effect his confidence level for sure.
Let us talk about what we can contribute to make india a peaceful place to live. It is good to play and see cricket. you cannot expect players to perform always. They are human beings. in real life Heart, kidneys, eyes and other parts of the human beong fails and person die inspite of it being a natural sysytem. you are worrying about failing of skills. entire country is talking about 11 persons.
I do not want to comment on whether non performers should be sent back or not but definitely would like to bring to attention that there should be change in the batting order. Kicking non performers out does not solve the purpose rather they should find out whats the reason behind it. Because there is no guarantee that new incoming player is going to score tons of runs for the team.
VVS Laxman need to be playing at position number 3 & Rahul at 4 follwed by Sachin, Ganguli, Singh or Kaif & so on.
Dravid should work as Wicketkeeper this way India can include all rounder or a bowler in the team like Yuvraj &/or Harbhajan Singh &/or Ramesh Powar etc. I do not mean to kick Dhoni out of the team but he should be kept as One Day specialist.
More importantly selectors should keep in mind that India is going to participate in World Cup in MAY2007 which is very close & new experiment will cause low performance in World Cup.

Its true when it komes to Indian team, Irfan score a hundred and 42 runs( First Innings) in the same match where Ganguly scored just 82 in first inning and 0 in second; but Ganguly is in the team and Irfan is out of form andback to Ranji. you know why Zaheer made to team its becoz not for performence but becoz he decides to play for Bombay in Ranji Trophy. Irfan this is the valuable tip to be back in the Indian team esp till Vengsarkar and Sharad Pawar are on top of BCCI.
