Was it right to sent Pathan back
by Matin Ahsan on Jan 03, 2007 06:25 PM  Permalink

It is so very obvious to see the thinking cap of Indian Cricket Team is on the wrong heads. The player who could have given a better contribution in the 2nd lost test not only with his bowling but also with his batting. Test cricket would have provided him a good ground to concentrate on his bowling by having longer spells in the field.
He is the same player who scored the first ton of the tour and saved the face of the Great Indian cricket team. He is not a player to look down upon the way the team has stood by Virender Sehwag should have supported him also.
The fans of Irfan Pathan - the conqueror of multan have full faith in his all round abilities and believe that he will definetly bounce back with his good performance with both bat and ball. We are with him.

Yes, it was right to send back Pathan.Nobody should take his position in Indian team for granted. Ofcourse the tour is coming to an end otherwise more such people should be sent back.

level playing field

pathan shouldnt be the first. they should have a plan of action and a firm resolve to not interfere in normal selection process.

let there be fewer ranji teams, and better quality of players
let there be no regional bias.
let merit be first preference.

this is a dream however!

Sending Mr Irfan Pathan back
by UG SANKAR on Jan 03, 2007 02:59 PM  Permalink

It was not a right decision at all. The team management should have sent non-performing Shewag back if at all they were so serious about the performance of the team.

absolutely double standards
by Arif Shaikh-Rx Infotech-mumbai on Jan 03, 2007 02:16 PM  Permalink

Sending back Pathan would be a wrong move especially because he is the same player who was aplauded for his success both with bat and ball .
Agreed taht he is not able to take those wickets taht easioly but what about others who have virtually done nothing to merit their overastay in this current team .

Sending back any player is bad be it with Pathan or any one else .The episode should not stink of something fishy .

Ptahan should not take it serioiusly as he is young and has a great future .
