Despite the fact that both Sehwag and Jaffar have failed miserably in the one day series, in the practice matches, etc, we end up selecting them for the 1st test. Why did we not try Gambhir? Also, atlease Mr Pathan was doing well with the bat, if not that good with the ball. We should have taken him atleast - specially when he has been one of the highest scorers in the One days and the practice matches.
Let the team be bold enough - drop Sehwag for a while. Ask him to play domestic cricket, play county and stay away from the endorsements, be amongst the runs, then select him. Right now, his form does not select him automatically.
Mr Sehwag has rusted a bit too soon.......... A stint at the domestic level and the one day level will grease him a bit and he would be able to focus more on his cricket. If we can do this with Ganguly, we can definitely do this with Sehwag...
