Captain My Captain
by saurav bose on Sep 27, 2005 09:37 PM  Permalink

My only message for the indian cricket captain

"that hand that rocked the cradle for so long" needs to be persisted with.

Domestic cricket has heros but to replace a talent like ganguly should not be like "a decision in haste and repent at leisure".

He has given us enough reasons to smile, and has backed players like Yuvraj, Kaif during form slumps which seemed perpetual.

Being a critic of the captain, whom i am sure is more aware of the situation.

Sir, please stand up and deliver and the voices against you will fall by the side.

Form is temporary but talent is permanent.

Just do the basics right. Cut you favorite shots out during the first 15 overs and wait for the spinners skipper.

signing off with best wishes for the indian cricket team.

Its quite clear that you are vociferously supporting the so-called prince of Indian Cricket.

It is also clear to me that you do not have the ability to differentiate between milk and water..

your comments add no value to the writer as well..

the outcome was expected because no sane person would like to throuw ganguly out of his position at the behest of the comments of a coach who incidently is a foreigner.it would have not been the same story had the coach been an Indian.

the truth is that our cricketers the senior ones in particular are spoilt lot because of the money they are allowed to earn through advertisments and otehr business contracts ,and which as per the previling culture of our society in ndia must definetly be passed on ot the people who count most in the board for their selection for teh tours. this is a nexus which must have been prevailing during the playing days of nari contractor or gavaskar for that matter but in a very limited and secretive manner.

our media these days also looks for pricky leads to sell their stories without assessing its repurctions at any level ,i.e at politcal level or game lovers level or even at the level of an individual player.

unless the journalists and teh key people managing the affiars of teh cricket in india feel they have some ptriotic comitment towards their country and people ,not much is gong to change.

LAIR?
by Ashish Subba on Sep 27, 2005 09:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its not a matter of being a liar. We all are not the first party to the whole controversy. Its all a hearsay. Who knows whats the truth. A thief never owns up until he is compelled or coersed. It is very much the truth that everything is a speculation and i can only say that we should give a man who has bought indian cricket to what it is today a little more respect and never forget that we are indian first. When the East India Company came first to India, who believed that it will be the begining of slavery for India. We all get carried away. So much for Democracy. How can we disown our own brother and say a foreigner is correct even if he is. Greg is an australian and all who are against Ganguly, are living in a dream house. HOW DO THEY KNOW HOW WE GOT OUR FREEDOM. Its always an INDIAN first. JAI HIND

BCCI is the culprit!
by Amit Shesh on Sep 27, 2005 09:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BCCI is a champion at doing such things--fighting bitterly over political nothings and brushing the real issues under the rug.

If the committee didn't find Chappell's ways of obtaining evidence to substantiate his claims trustworthy, it should've used better ones to counter his claims. Speaking to both separately and then announcing the verdict in less than a day is hardly a "comprehensive" review of what has happened. They should have spoken to both simultaneously if they really felt it was a case of miscommunication, like Chappell made Ganguly speak with Laxman before him. It is a shame to the former cricketers like Gavaskar and Shastri. But I really don't blame them--I guess they didn't have a chance to do anything so long as Mahendra and Dalmiya were also on the committee.

When will BCCI have office bearers that actually know cricket? It is the same state as our government, politicians managing the nation without an ounce of managerial capability. BCCI is a bunch of businessmen managing Indian cricket without themselves having any knowledge of the game.

Commitee did discuss togather with Chappell and Ganguly ! They talked to both of them individually and then at the end togather. Both of them gave the evidence and Ganguly DID provide the proof that he was genuinely injured. Its so funny everyone willing and so eager to give benefit of doubt blindly to Chappell. I personally do believe that Ganguly should not continue anymore as captain, HOWEVER as far as controversy is concerned it was chappell who exaggerated it. And one of the most important thing about coaching ANY side in the world is first win the confidence of the team and make them believe that he is there to change for better. Can Chappell say that? OFCOURSE NOT ...forget Ganguly more than half of the team is not happy with him. It was indeed a cheap shot from him to blame John Write without even having idea about how actually he worked inside dressing room. And how about sending sms and emails to his media friends in private and going for a toss himself in a first class game and ignoring Ganguly? NOT WELL DONE. Ofcourse its all lie for you all because its Ganguly who is supposed lie isnt it? Ganguly or no Ganguly bottom line is Chappell hasnt won confidence of players yet

Hi,

Whatever charges told my Mr.Chappell against Ganguly is all lie. Even a lay men will know this. How can a man who worked for 3 months can talk about a person who served as Captain for the past 5 years. It is the high time that BCCI should throw Chappel out of this job and BCCI should find good man manager.

Read your messge for Chappels. Chappell is not a liar

If any plsyer is not showing performance how he can be selected in the team. The captain also suppossed to be a outstanding player and he should set example by performing best over and above leading the team to victory. Her Ganguly is failure in all corner and he is being selected because of Mr Dalmiya. So in the interest of Indian Cricket Dalmiya shoulbe Banned to interfear in Indian Cricket and Ganguly should be asked to go to home
