Chappell is surely contradicting himself at every step, if not being a liar.
1. Take this. Chappell's mail starts with "1. At no stage did I ask Mr Ganguly to step down from the captaincy of the Indian team"... The same mail mentiones "Sourav asked me whether I thought he should be captain of the team. I said that I had serious doubts that he was in the right frame of mind to do it" Aren't these contradictory ? What else would tantamount to Chappell asking his captain to step down???
2. Chappell accuses Sourav of 'divide and rule'. In fact in the mail he says"The next day I enquired with a number of the players as to what they had thought of Sourav's retirement. The universal response was that it was 'just Sourav' as they recounted a list of times when Sourav had suffered from mystery injuries"
What impression do players get when the coach openly casts doubts on the ability and integrity of the captain and goes on to discuss these in his back...This is what is called 'divide and rule'...
I was a huge fan of Chappell as a player...But for now, this man deserves to be kicked out!
I don't think Chappel is a liar. Chappel may be a tough guy; but to say he is a liar is not right. The whole nation is aware of Ganguly and his performance. He has become a liability to the team and I would fully support Chappel's point of view that only the players who are in good nick should be picked up to play any game and it does apply to all superstars as well. It is saddening that after impressive performance players like Mohamed Kaif,Yuwaraj Singh are made to sit out only to pave the way for out-of-form captain. This will not happen anywhere except India. Probably Indians can learn a lesson from Australians.
What this whole incident shows is how we Indians just think everything extends into everything else.
Here is a cricket team which is just refusing to perform....and the a captain who will not take responsbility for these and we have people like Mr. Dalmyia who think because they have made the board the richest in the world therefore he needs to stick to his post no matter what...it's shamefull on part of Dalmyia nd Ganguly that even after so much has been said and written about them instead of stepping out and fighing in out like gentelman they are hanging on to their positions like dogs hang on to bones....
Shame on them for doing this and shame on us for allowing them to do this....
yah finally truths wins... in India cricket is run not by professionals... even a new person started seeing cricket can tell anyone how well Mr.Ganguly fields and throws himself in the field.. it doesn't need a white gentleman from Australia to send an email to prove this.. Finally when no one can deny Ganguly's captaincy records,he can't be at the helm throughout his lifetime oneday he has to go.. he should take moral responsibility before some say As Chappell say players should select themselves before any one pointing out.. it has happened to steve waugh, mark taylor, wasim akram and many more to say.. if indians want to be world champions like Australia they should adopt some strict selection policies... Then coming to captaincy, how will u honour a best rated test batsman and also a role model for the whole of indian cricket fraternity.Yes i am talking about Rahul Dravid, who has shown professionalism in everything from talking to media persons, treating his co-players,opponents and many more to say.. if he is not made the captain then he will not get that chance forever and it should be done at the earliest for the betterment of cricket in india.
it's very disgusting and frustrating even to talk about all this. it is very painful to see a National team and it committe to behave in such a way as to degrade our country's respect.I mean, how many times have this "committe" proved that they are nothing but a bunch of fools. The problem lies in here, not the team not the coach. These people are JUST NOT CAPABLE, PERIOD. I can't even think of an alternative to eradicate this scum. It is so sickening to know that these people can pass such comments. They did not touch the issue at all. they left it where it was and.....forget it. I feel ashamed, the whole world is reading this and here we are, playing jokers. Don't they even realize that they are representing India. They have no right to degrade my country like this. If you cannot do the job just get out. I have no hope for indian cricket till these jokers are around. I seriously doubt...are these the players who once have made us so proud??????Disgusting....Horribly disgusting...god help Indian cricket.
On you Mr Ganguly for sticking on to this spot even you know that you are unfit for it, shame on you Mr. Chappell for not throwing your appointment papers at the commitee member's faces and above all shame on you Messrs. Gavaskar, Shastri and Venkatraghavan for letting us cricketing public down and showing us your true selves. You are no longer dependent on the BCCI- we expect you to call a spade a spade. I've followed Indian cricket for the last 36 years and have never felt any lower not even when our team was shot out for a score of 42 in England long time ago. And as far as Messrs Dalmiya and R.S. Mahendra go, all I can say is that they are beyond any shame, and shame on you rediff editor if you do not have the guts to put this article of the pain of a cricket lover on the front page of your site. I feel more pain today than when we lose to Pakistan. I hope that convets the extent of my disgust.
It is sickening to hear the so called Mahendra talk. We should all bow our heads in shame for keeping this sort of waste in high positions and let them decide the nation's fate
