Though we don't know who is right ,yet we feel that india's poor performance is due to the couses pointed out by Chappell. It happens only in india once you will get agood knock then you are in the team for one year . we really need to look at australia , when their player don't perform them are supposed to be axed .that makes them champion . so drop them who are not performing consistently .don't make them feel their place are granted.that's is what this great man tried & look the result he is going to lost his job bcz the conspircy is already begun only we will have to wait that to happen .If we will prepare like this we will never win any cup forget worldcup.
Who are these guys who head the BCCI.By what qualification do they sit in that office.None of them has intrest of Indian cricket in mind. The are self serving people enjoying the free perks.merit is not the sole criterion to select our team.Saurav has been a good captain but it is worth checking his contribution in the recent times. You can not sit on your old achievements. The captain has to justify his place. He rode his way to success on the back of a well performing team. But has no doubt supressed a few talents on the way and so have the BCCI guys. But it is disappointing to find team India so divided. Chappell is no liar nor is he a push over. Look at the fact how his confidential mail leaked. I pray talent and performance becomes the future parameter to select players for the team and not patronage and regional bias. I hope BCCI and Team India will play for Indian National pride. It is the high payments and advertisement revenue which make players like Saurav and others to try and over stay by hook or the patron in chief. When Sunny retired he was still good enough to go on.He said i prefer going when people are asking me why are you going insted of why not.Why not Saurav?
What you want, Prem? Fire the coach, captain,Singh or all the three! For management, these types of conflicts always come up and initial thing the responsible people do is remind parties involved of the priorities and expectation and tighten up the monitoring mechanism. That is what the 'wise' men did, because they are not magicians. The situation is very clear, captain doesn't appoint coach, coach doesn't appoint captain, captain does not review coach's performance, coach does not review captain's performance, but both have ability to monitor each other, criticize, congratulate and send reports to the appropriate forum. The situation here is that the reporting happened at a different stage than the expected one, and a lot of emotions were involved in both parties comments about each other. When emotions run high, generally intelligence run lower and that questions the credibility of the comments each one made, and they may have a different opinion now.
I used to enjoy your writing when you were a young writer and your growth has been tremendous, congratulations! But this is time for you to come above 'the average' and stop doing articles for survival. After all everybody is human!
Good one Prem.. One more time, our committee has comfortably but predictably managed to keep its eye off the ball. This uneasy truce is unlikely to last as everyone knows and for the kind of treatment meted out to Greg it wouldn't surprise me if he resigns (for the best interests of Indian cricket!!!)
In short- the matter is swept under the carpet for what they actually say.. "In the best interst of "INDIAN CRICKET" !!!!! hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa or in the best interest of Mr.Dalmiya and company the illegal supremo of BCCI.........!!!!!! god when these politicians and beauracrats will leave the BCCI and let the professional take up the matters in their hands.. whats the qualifications of these (not so....) gentelemen anyway... the Mahendras, the dalmias, the sharad pawars..etc etc.. who are the presidents of their respective states...cricket associations..? why they.. why not ex-cricketers..? why not..? ratan from Dubai...
Do you really think Greg Chappel should be sacked? What do you think he is gonna earn by abusing ganguly?
Ganguly was really a good captain. But that doesnt make him the divinty. Everyone have their bad patches. He hasnt performed for quite a while and that directly shows in his captaincy.
Chappel should be given his time and chance to prove. I hope thats gonna help indian cricket rather than spoiling it.
Above all its a sport and should be played in its own spirits not with divide and rule (schism as u call it) in mind. I feel ganguly's time has come to an end and he should step down from captaincy.
Iwould say that Mr.Chappel have to control his anger. On the other hand ganguli have to play better than before.Mr. chapple is wrong in sending E.mail.
After being witness to the unprecedented Media Hype over nothing... and finally nothing eventually happened except All has been sorted out in the BEST INTEREST of the GAME is a slap on the face for all cricket fans.
The same BCCI president said the matter will be looked into and action taken. Well.. if this is the action taken, im sure Ganguly might come an hour late for practice or even to the match and still claim that he is innocent and he is pertrayed as Villian.
Another aspect is .. if he feels COACH has exceeded his limits, then in what limit did he ask stand-in Dravid to declare when SACHIN was on 194. Saurav after all did not play in that match. Well there has to be same yardstick for every one. Well with Dalmiya and 5 other wise men in his side, one cannot expect FAIR PLAY.
