comment of mahendra that team members i.e coach, captain and the players should not talk to media is a big slap on the faces of so called cricket writers. if they have guts to prove themselves as journalists, they should avoid mentioning even a single world about off the field activities.
Once media stop giving coverage to the game and the cricketers they would start walking on the roads like beggers.
I think there are some hard truths in both corners. The very clash between greg and Ganguly is from their ego clash, frustration and strong ambition to prove themselves in partial vain . I think the allegation that Sourav is not fit for playing cricket further upto 2007 world cup may be partially true. He looks lazy in the field. On the same reason a few of his teammates should be included in the same bracket . For example Tendulkar, Kumble, Lakhsman etc. But faking injury, schism, Divide and rule in the dressing room initiated by Ganguly, provintialism is "far from truth", I think.
Today BCCI president showed that how they are working for their own interests but not for Position they have been assigned. They said elections are the corner, so they dont want to mess up with the things which goes against them.
Mr. Mahendra, you have been assigned the duty to take care of india cricket, not to destroy it. How simply they said that they(gaguly & chappel) will work together. I think he think the Indian public a big fool. I will say only one thing to indian public that leave this cricket thing to them and dont waste you time any more. It is not going to improve.

It is true the performance of Saurav Ganguli has gone down. For a winning team the CAPTAIN definitely shoulnot be only a commanding KING sitting on a wheel Chair. Hence, Ganguli should either continue as a CAPTAIN with his physical fitness and performance during play or should quite with honor for the shake of giving chance to some other who will be able to lead the team to win as a CAPTAIN like performance.
I, personally do not find anything wrong with Mr. Chappell whose motto is only to make a winning TEAM.
It turn out be that the Indian cricket is administered by foolish poeple who are only intrested in making money and trying to play their personal battles rather than working to improve the sport.

For last few days this particular issue has sidelined all national and international issues to come on top. Peoples mind is forgetful. We are blaming these two persons for attacking each other. They are cricketers, one present and one former. It is hard to believe that they are not modest. Every action has a couse and I feel the cause was planted by the board before the last Sri Lanka tour while Rahul was declared as Captain of Indian team. There was no clear verdict from the board. Sourav was banned to take part so if Rahul was appointed as a stop gap it would have had a meening. But he was declared as a regular capatain and we found Sourav playing under him in the last phase of the tournament. Immediately after Sourav was declared captain for the Zimbabwe tour. For what reason Rahul got the axe? Is it for losing the trophy? If this is the reason then India lost in so many finals in recent past. It confused Greg as Coach. Sourav was not finding his class back. When team needs one spinner Anil has to sit. It happened with Laxman. So ego, sentiment and Greg,an Australian, hates to be defeated - resulted the chaos. So, leave aside frustration and look forward. Save Indian Cricket.
the great Indian drama has finally come to an end ... Mr. uhh-aah-ouch has been reinstate as the captain of the great cricket playing nation ... what a joke... a man who has his been caught pants down been assigned the job ... when will the BCCI come out of 'feel good' dome and take some decision which will actually the game of cricket in India....
ONE major point which none of the media raised was the gross indiscipline on the part of Team India's most successfull captain Sourav Ganguly, who came late to the airport prior to India's tour of Zimbabwe.
The BCCI president had said it would be dealt with in the Review Committee meeting. But it wasn't discussed or was it?
Another point is Ganguly was the first to go public against Chappell.
Third, it wasnt Chappell who went and leaked the EMAIL.
Finally... after the meeting was over.. except for Ganguly none of the other committee members, coach, physio or team manager spoke or expressed their VIEW, becoz there was amedia gag on them.
If the BCCI was serious on gagging the players, they should have sacked Ganguly for gross indiscipline on these counts and the member who was responsible for the leak.
Finally Ganguly was the only one who spoke to the media abut how relieved he was after the meeting. Well will the BCCI take action against him or do we have to wait for another review committee meet to look into this too.
