chappell.....a liar???
by sunetra on Sep 28, 2005 07:09 AM  Permalink

there is only one word to describe the ongoing fracas of indian cricket - DISGUSTING. chappell will soon realise it is better to pack up and leave rather than try to make this disgusting bunch called 'cricketers' ready for the world cup.

i have one suggestion though.......why doesn't ganguli throw a tantrum and say that he won't play unless dalmiya is the national coach, since he does not seem to be able to function without mr. dalmiya around???? i am sure mr. dalmiya has the 'best interests of indian cricket' in mind!!

i feel for chappell.....

again, DISGUSTING is the word that comes to mind

is chappel and lier?
by Ramesh on Sep 28, 2005 06:54 AM  Permalink

dear friends,

We all forgot the fact that this is INDIA and anything and everything can happen here. We never dreamt to have a fast settlement to this issue in INdian cricket, did we? Look how easily the SIX WISE MEN OF INDIAN CRICKET solved the problem. One more thing they gave Chappel a momento by calling him a lier. Hope this will open his eyes wide.

Sunil Gawaskar, Mahendra, Dalmia should be kept away from the indian cricket
by anonymous on Sep 28, 2005 06:53 AM  Permalink

Everyone in india knows that Ganguly is the laziest cricker in the world cricket. He can\'t run on field. He doesn\'t attend the pre-match net sessions. Whenever one watch a match its obvious. Its a fact. And fact doesn\'t require any proof.

Dalmia should be kept away from cricket in the best interest of indian cricket.

Sunil Gavaskar is the most selfish cricketer India ever had. During his playing days as well as now. He wanted his son to be in Indian team. So, Mr. Gavaskar played the game slowly. First, he sent his son to the Bengal team. Then Mr. Ganguly got Junior Gavaskar in the Indian team. Now as a favour Mr Gavaskar had to save his son\'s mentor.

About Mahendra... He is a Chamcha to Dalmia. So, no mention of his name is required.

BCCI's problem!
by Vijay on Sep 28, 2005 06:51 AM  Permalink

No one seems to understand the predicament of BCCI. If they twist Chappell's arm too much just to show him the Door and he Quits there won't be any takers for that Job - Indian or others. It is now clear that Greg will be there till the World Cup but as far as Sourav is concerned I will deploy my Money for betting on other things.

Incidentally will BCCI find out if Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Sastri and Venkat will accept the job of National Selectors. Just these three at the Price they demand so that they can consider this 'offer' more lucrative than what ever they are getting!

Excellent observation
by Pinaki Mukerjee on Sep 28, 2005 06:49 AM  Permalink

Kudos Mr. Panicker....This is an excellent article...This again proves that its very important to do certain home work before penning down something...I completely agree with Mr. Panicker when he raises a number of questions...I strongly question the BCCI for leaking such an important email which was supposed to be confidential...And since it was leaked it became even more important to find out the root cause and punish the person who was wrong...be it Chappel or Saurav...But as always and as anticipated they took the route to completely bury this issue with irrelevant excuses which is a real shame on the part of BCCI and the Indian cricket as a whole...

Chappel\'s motives
by Raj on Sep 28, 2005 06:37 AM  Permalink

We got to remember that Sourav was the first international captain/player to really show the boorish australian team their place.

Sourav has already proved his worth as a captain. What has Chappell done for the Indian team so far?

Calling the Indian Coach a Liar..
by Pavan on Sep 28, 2005 05:57 AM  Permalink

Mr.Panicker ,

ur Article " Is chappell a Liar, Mr.Mahendra" was hilarious , u have really potrayed a perfect picture of indian Board and team ,,,U made my day.. this artcile particularly was the perfect description to where Indian cricket stands at this point,,,

A captain who would find hard to get into the shoes of a 12th man in a county side given his present form ,is an Indian Captain this is just keeps me Smiling when ever i read about it .Indeed it is a really, really, a pathetic state of indian affairs.More over failed to improve his leg side play in the last 10 years is an Indian Cricket team captain. What a joke , if im not wrong in my argument i always found left handers are too good on their leg side game .this i can vouch with small grain of cricket experience as a University player .the captain has also passed his prime time and Use by date and still refuses to leave the Throne ..probabaly would be the next Mr. Lalu Prasad yadav of Indian cricket team .i can bet on this comment .

i have only one thing to say to BCCI ,given my presumption that they understand simple english "BCCI just sack this Captain. its time to move on..look into the future not into the past "

Who is lier?
by Tumu on Sep 28, 2005 05:54 AM  Permalink

The review committee proves that "Media, Cricket fans and Indian cricketing community are mindless before genious cricket board and review committee": This is big Joke.

The dirty politics are at its peak as far as the Indian cricket is concerned and they are now transparent. By ordering the players not to go to media, the BCCI says "Let us play politics safe".

The review committe knows all facts ("They know what Chappel wrote in his email is fact"). In fact, they know it long before the email is sent, because all of them are involved in those kind of events in the past, so they feel this as "miscommunication". They are right!

That is why Indian cricket team (as a team work) performance is far below compared to other teams. This is not going to improve in future. Our team lags in team work, professionalism and synergy. Team India is a joke as far as team work is concerned.

"Chappel must realize this and play safe or leave".

Let us not talk about fairness in team events and if we want to enjoy cricket, live with these, take it light. Poor review committee members (Esp. all former captains, without spine!), what can they do when people like Dalmia are there.

Boycott Cricket
by Boycott Cricket on Sep 28, 2005 05:51 AM  Permalink

The best solution to this problem would be for everyone to boycott all cricket events until jokers like Ganguly and Dalmia are kicked out.
