Is Chappel a liar, MR. Mahendra
by Nilesh on Sep 28, 2005 10:10 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr. Mahendra is puppet of Dalmia & Dalmia & Sourabh must have given him money to say this. If Chappel is a liar then sack him. DO they have the guts to do this.

Loser here is the Indian Cricket which is at the mecy of such people like Dalmia & Mahendra.

By doing this committe has taken India 5 years back. Now cricket players like Gangully & others who do not want to take efforts & pride to play for India will never ever go for physical fitness & mental toughness required to paly ay Intrenational level & which in turn will effect Cricket.

It is high time that media & public should not project the Indian team & its players as great & talented

Accept them as medicore team which can beat only with great efforts Zimbabawe & Bangladesh.

Why New Zealand win final & beat India, the reason is they can take a decision not to select Chris Crains a grat alrounder becasue he is not fit. This is true with all other teams & that is the reason other teams beat India.

If Gangully is mentally fit then why India lost 19 finals.

IF Gangully is gratest then what is his performance against good pace bowling attack.

Only Ganguly is resposible for all the loses ! / Cricket is a game of only 1 player !
by Meghadoot Chaudhuri on Oct 12, 2005 12:49 AM  Permalink
I don't want to take pains to negate all of your remarks. But for the one I can't help replying.

You said "If Gangully is mentally fit then why India lost 19 finals". Perhaps you don't understand that cricket is a game of 11 people and when a team fail, mainly it is because most of the players fail. Secondly, when a door remains half open, people like you always term it as half-closed. Yes, during Ganguly's tenure as Captain, India lost 19 finals ; but name another captain who could take the team to 19 finals. Now you will say that it happened because of Sachin, Dravid, Laxman and others.

So when team wins, it is because the other players besides Ganguly ; and when the team loses, it is only because of Ganguly.

What an analysis ! carry on ............

Mahendra Singh must be axed
by Kumar on Sep 28, 2005 10:09 AM  Permalink

We should feel proud with the current indian team, at same sime we are ashamed to have Mahendra and Ganguly.

Ganguly is waste for team, still Dalmiya and Mahendra are trying to save him. These are playing with the cricket.

First, Mahendra should be sacked from BCCI.

It is ashamed to know, a person on a top position, Mahendra trying to help Ganguly. The entire india is giving opinion to keep Ganguly away from captaincy.

As per the survey conducted by the many media's, still BCCI didn't take any action, rather than saying didn't its very good to say couldn't.

There is no value for a respective Coach, public and media.

The situation is crystal clear, lot of injustice is happening to indian cricket.

Oh! god save indian cricket from the selfish people like, Ganguly, Mahendra and Dalmiya.

We are ashamed to have people like them in BCCI.

Ganguly Vs Chappell
by Shailesh Sharma on Sep 28, 2005 10:04 AM  Permalink

Whether Mr. Chappell is a liar or not, we will not know, but he has been proved to be a liar, by the board.Although the board has not concluded this in the meeting, it is an inference even a child in this country can draw from what Mr. Mahindra had to say.The board is not to be blamed for not reaching to a conclusion in the meeting and spelling out some vague interim measures, because no meetings within the boundary of this country ever reach to conclusions.

Therefore because of my conclusions from the meeting, i feel that Mr. Chappell should be sacked from his job 'in the best interest of indian cricket'.But the boards in india, as universally known, work for their own individual agendas and interests.

Is Chappel a liar?
by Munish Jain on Sep 28, 2005 10:02 AM  Permalink

Well said, Mr. Prem.

Greg Chappel will do his dignity a world of good by quitting NOW. All the cricket lovers of this country will remember him as a martyr whose noble intentions of bringing in professionalism to Indian cricket were brutally murdered by Mr. Dalmiya and his coterie. Ganguly has shown him, and the rest of the country, who is the Boss. The BCCI should be renamed as BCCID (the Board of Cricket Control in India by Dalmiya). The intentions of Dalmiya, Mahendra and Nayyar were never in doubt but what was really disappointing was that even the presence of three ex-captains failed to change the course of the events.

Long live Saurav Ganguly, The Indian Cricket is dead.

Coach Vs Captain
by venkatC.V. on Sep 28, 2005 10:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Prem,

Don't tell me you had no idea, this is the way BCCI will close the issue. They made Media folks look like having made a mountain of a mole hill! What has happened between Greg and Sourav is nothing but a massive ego clash. This has nothing to do with the cricketing abilities, mental or physical of both these gentlemen. Greg thought the Coach was the dominant force. The Captain thought that he was the all important force, having led India in over 180 games and with the Coach having entered yesterday!

Even the great Ian Chappell thinks the Captain is all important. Ian and Greg are reported to have had a heated argument over this issue. Greg is not a Man Manager. Sourav is a Man Manager.Thats it.

Future lesson- if any one sends an e-mail the Media and cricket fans should ignore!
Venkat

Wonderful observation. The truth is that the issue is nothing bigger than just an ego-battle which resulted into so much 'brick-batting' in different ways.

Media persons will never want to put an end to it, as it provides bread to them. The more the common people get enraged, the merrier is for the media-people (of these days).

sourav-chapell fall-out
by V.G.Patnaik on Sep 28, 2005 09:56 AM  Permalink

Panicker's observations are indeed praiseworthy.Mr. Panicker , you better understand that as long as the game is administered by such people who never played the game but are in it because of the big bucks and politics, the players, the captain and the coach are mere pawns who will have to tow the line of these administrators specially Sourav because of his poor form.Sourav should otherwise also accept gracefully the fact that he is on down the hill mode and must way make way for someone else to take over in the best interest of Indian cricket.

Dump BCCI
by Tushar on Sep 28, 2005 09:53 AM  Permalink

This spat proves one thing that was always clear. BCCI (and its sub-committees)cosnists of BUNCH OF JOKERS (souns familiar? One of the candidates for coaching India said it long time back!). Not only this they are not administrators but POLITICIANS and like many others of their ilk are ONLY after money.
IN THE BEST INTERST OF THE GAME etc are only catchy phrases for sugar coating the REAL intentions.
Amon the actors involved in the DRAMA, if any one deserves to be dumped it is BCCI.
If ANYONE has interest of cricket at heart, for God's sake THROW BCCI in the BAY OF BENGAL (Again sounds familiar?)...!
