The six wise men who decided that Chappel is liar exhibits that they are liars. Indian Cricket is not going to see the bright sport of it as long as this kind of wise stoop together to cling to position by pleasing someone so that they may live on the wealth of BCCI. Let us pray, BCCI finds a unbiassed leader and Indian Cricket Team a dedicated Leader, certainly not in Saurav Ganguly.
It is unfortuante that men of ignoble character like Jagmohan Dalmiya are let to be the Ring masters of an Arena that more than billion people take an interest in.I have stopped watching cricket and trying to cultivate interset in hockey .Atleast they give it all on the field even if they are paid peanuts when compared to cricketers
Mr Panicker, Dont you think that being a 'Critic' is far more easier than being a coach, a player or a member of the enquiry committee???
Well..while most of us have our opinions, we need to trust the members of the committee who are highly respected and air their views/opinions without prejuidice!!
There may be a genuine communication gap and also egos playing their roles... Should we not be more prudent in terming one a liar?? Yes! The difference is between lying and not telling the truth...and thats a thin line to tread on!
When egos play cricket on the pitch, players and coach play it in dressing rooms...what a pity!
this is the live example how politics plays a critical role in the games also.. this is one of the reason why talented people lagging behind in sports and games and not able to get the medals in the international level. Need to learn much from the aussie team where you have to struggle, to keep the place in the team.
A very nice article. Points and questions have been raised are very justified. I feel Indian cricket team should get a new coach who gets respect and confidence of the team and of the nation. Greg should have understand the statistics of Sourav before making his conclusions so quickly.
I feel there is nothing wrong in what chappel said. Indian cricket board from now on should be more stringent in team selection process. If we want our side to be converted into world beaters then we have to be more tough.
There is no place for underperformance. The place in side should be solely on the basis of merit and not on the stature of the person. See what has happened to hayden, martin and gillespie after 1 or 2 bad series.
Its high time that we come out of sentiments and start playing cricket instead of playing politics.
its really said to see the outcome of this...With this the message to youngsters has come in a negative way...and they proved that even if someone tries to develop something in india, its indians(likes of ganguly and daalmiya) with their dirty politics dont let it happen...And even though its clear from all corners of the country that ganguly should be sacked in the interest of indian cricket...it didnt happen...
Surely this has sent wrong message to the youngsters aspiring tp play for indian team.
Greg is talking sense. Ganguly talking of conspiracy theory when actually he should quit on the ground that he doesn't deserve to be in the team now. The officials are weak and indecisive and try to survive in controversy. Umesh
