Greg-saurav dispute
by Audrey Dsouza on Sep 28, 2005 11:52 AM  Permalink

It's sad that after the match fixing scam, now another Indian captain is engulfed in what looks like a clear case of insubordination. After all chappel is the coach... Captain or no, everyone MUST follow his instructions. Saurav has to realise that the Indian team under his stewardship was sinking, so Chappel was appointed to inject vigour... hard as it may seem, our team needed this, as they had become overconfident, and depended solely on 'endorsement' once they got into the team. If any player cannot stand the rigrous training, this is the right time for them to Quit honorably.

Saurav cannot hope to get away with this. He has fallen to a all time low in the eyes of his fans........... Audrey

Ganguly or Chappell
by Sunil Shastri on Sep 28, 2005 11:51 AM  Permalink

In my view after going through all the stuffs on net aswell as telivesion Chappell is write in his part.

In India people say about the past itself and not the present, keeping in mind of the form which Ganguly has now a days, it seems he wants hold on to the Captaincy just because he feels that if he striped off the captaincy he might loose the place in Indian team itself.

Chappell he is thinking of tommrrow ie. World Cup 2007 for which these people does not suit. Cricket is a game where aggresiveness is must.

I dont feel Chappell has lied. He may not have put the write words to describe Mr DADA and always as Gurus say failing person cannot lead a show it is true how can Villan have a lead role in the film.

Till BCCI does not settel there own issues they cannot say any thing and also till Mr Dlmiaya is there you will find this sort of issues. He may be a good administrator but he is also a politican.

Rediculous!
by Dillip Kumar Das on Sep 28, 2005 11:47 AM  Permalink

Two simple words are sufficient to describe the whole saga of Chappell and Sourav. Ridiculous and Hypocrisy. What do these people think of themselves? Are they considering themselves as Gods of cricket, which is almost synonymous to religion in India? The BCCI is total confusion now, and what these wise ex-players are doing there? Dont they have the courage to say a spade a spade and make the people managing the board realize that they cant get away with anything? A very simple question may be asked to those at the helm of affairs that how much contribution they have given to cricket as cricketers. It is not there own paternal estate and whatever they prefer will do. They should understand cricket first and then try to manage it. What they are analyzing and discussing or even doing to find solutions are being done by every common man with certain knowledge of cricket at every street and corner of this country. The board administrators are no better wise men than them. They should stop all these non-sense and concentrate in developing cricket or must quit if they dont have that wisdom. One should understand no body is indispensable and in this case no body is above cricket. Also the media should be responsible enough not blow things out of proportion for commercial benefits and create confusion.

by S. RAJAGOPALAN on Sep 28, 2005 11:44 AM  Permalink

The present management of BCCI, which is working only to satisfy Mr. Dalmiya, is making the their best efforts to damage Indian Cricket with the help of Indian Captain(!!??) Sourav...

U R RIGHT!!!
by BISHNU CHARAN PATRO on Sep 28, 2005 11:43 AM  Permalink

What Mr. Mahindra said, in my opinion, was completely rubbish and against the intersts of the INDIAN CRICKET. He advocated for Mr. Ganguli without any evidence and blamed the Guru Chappel as a lier without any solid proof. What is more disturbing for the cricket fans in the country is that Mr. Mahindra doesn't have his own voice as far as the INTERESTS OF INDIAN CRICKET is concerned because he seems to act as a puppet in the hands of a former BCCI chief.

Guys Stop this debate
by classical on Sep 28, 2005 11:43 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Guys,
Our Respected Indian Citizens and the never relenting refiff columnists, could you please stop this debate for good? Nevertheless, whether it is Ganguly or any other person in his position, would not gain confidence anyway if we go on critisizng a person constantly.
We all know that Ganguly has been a good captain and ofcourse a good batsman till some time back. Now what ever the politics might be or who ever is right or wrong, one could not just sack either Ganguly or Chappell at this stage especially when the fire is burning. Just see how Ganguly fares in the next couple of series and then some action can be taken.
But for now, whether you guys support Ganguly or Chappell, it would fine if the media keeps quiet and just back up the patch up process and go ahead for the good of Indian Cricket. Mind you - A person who knows pschycology well would back Ganguly and Chappell instead of questioning the Patch process. Who knows Ganguly and Chappell could well gel to-gether and create success for Indian Cricket. But I am afraid whether the politics in the BCCI and the Media in particular will allow to do it or not. Media, PLEASE SHUT UP & CONCENTRATE SOMEWHERE. Others cant help

Dear Classical,

I am sorry. The earlier reply from me, that can be seen now against your message has been posted wrongfully. Actually I intended to post it against the previous message sent by Bhaskar Rauthan. But my anger made me commit the mistake. Sorry, really sorry.

Yours has been a nice message to read.

Including Mr.Dalmiya there were six persons who jointly gave the verdict. Had Mr.Dalmiya been not there, the rest five persons, would have given the verdict. Would it affect the fate of the verdict by any means ?

Then stop suggesting such rubbish.

Colum -Mr Prem Panicker Part 2
by Bhaskar Rauthan on Sep 28, 2005 11:38 AM  Permalink

There are many questions still unanswered-One being
Why was Mr.Dalmiya in the review committee??He is supposed to be a Former President. That alone doesnt give him any credintials to be in the meeting.
MrPrem panickers column seems the voice of the nation and exactly what thousands of cricket loving fans in India would be feeling.
Chappel showed his frustration when the team was leaving for Zimbabwe. The meeting before departure being cancelled due to the late arrival of our fancy cricket stars including captain only shows the kind of dedication and enthusism our cricket heros have!
Why was the Bangalore camp skipped before the departure??? Who is responsible for that?? Have the authorities taken any action or again as usual its a case of forgotten things?? No wonder Team India is on a losing spree.
It seems there is one man who has comewith a vision of improving and putting Team India as a recokning force in world cricket.Barring a few players,is anyone interested???..to be continued
