stop glorifying individual records!
by Mohan Rapheal on Aug 04, 2005 09:52 PM  Permalink

well..cricket is a team game and simply we glorify
individuals and their records even if that means we
are on the losing side.

we have to change our mentle block towards individual records and see to it that how many games India has won as a team.we are still lowly ranked among the top teams in the world.

Be it Gavaskar, kapil dev, sachin tendulkar or saurav they have all great records to show individually but how much of those records have contributed to a win is very rare.

i would retirate that cricket is a team game and not an individual sport .

we must however give full credit to sania mirza who has broken into the top 50 in a very competitive sport which is an individual sport unlike cricket.

i appeal to all my indian brothers not to glorify too much individual records in cricket and give more importance to winning matches.

Congratulation......Ganguly must return back as Captain from next series
by Kanhu Charan Barick on Aug 04, 2005 09:49 PM  Permalink

First of all lots of congratulation to Ganguly on his 10,000 runs and being 3rd batsman in the world for such great sucess. IIC ban and indian cricket selecters bad eyes can never stop Ganguly form his success. He returned back to indian team with a half century which must stop others mouth. Ganguly must return back as captain from the next series. No body can stop it...

saurav will be captain again
by rohan on Aug 04, 2005 09:48 PM  Permalink

Be it Azhar or Sachin, all have got 2 shots at captaincy. So will Saurav. He is a fighter and going through a bad patch. His half century is a positive sign. He has beaten Australia and Pakistan in their respective countries and guided us to a world cup final. His aggression and taking the authorities head strong in support for his teammates earned lot of enemies. Till the time he was playing well he was the best now every one is against him. Dravid is the wall, one of the best players in the world but not a captain material for Indian team. We need Ganguly back as captain, where he belongs

Well done Sourav
by rano on Aug 04, 2005 09:43 PM  Permalink

Great feat Sourav. This shows that you belong to a set of cricketers that is almost null. We admire your passion as a freshly sprouted leaf admires sunlight. Please continue to bring glory to yourself and to our beloved nation. All the best.

Congrats
by Anand on Aug 04, 2005 09:42 PM  Permalink

Hi Viewers,
Certainly it was good to see DADA back in action, but the sad thing was he made INDIA to pay a huge price by batting so slow...
No doubt he is a great player but he must think what is he doing on the field will his actions really help TEAM INDIA...
Anyway it is great achievement of scoring more than 10,000 ODI runs..

Sourav Ganguly showed a good comeback. This will definitely lift his morale and instill confidence in him. He may prove a great asset to the team in the matches to come.
