Wrong attitude brought the shameful exit from world cup
by cmkushwaha on Mar 28, 2007 05:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Indian coach went on experimenting till India lost everything. He turned batsmen into bowlers and vice versa. Result could't have been better than the present one. He also went on statistics and not by performances. I don't want to blame a particular player, but it is the attitude of loosing without fighting which caused so much distrass among fans. They didn't learn from the past; when they found it hard to win against Holland in 2003 world cup.

where did india go wrong
by pravin naik on Mar 28, 2007 04:45 PM  Permalink

Actually all the tail enders should have been sent at early stage to score maximum because if tail enders loose some quick wickets it doesnt matter but the recognised batsmen if they get out at early stage the match is almost gone. so here Dravid should have done some experiment of sending the tail enders like Munaf Patel as pinch heaters and should have kept the recognised batsment at last to make winning finish.

Who is responsible for defeat
by pravin naik on Mar 28, 2007 04:37 PM  Permalink

Infact every player is responsible for defeat, first Mr.Uttappa, he was dropped twice but even then why did he go for uppish shots because run per over were just 4 to 5 runs, secondly Ganguly got out when it was just eleventh over who told him to play uppish undoubtful shots that too without looking gaps or without knowing wheather the players are at long on is in deep or just within the 15 yards. third Mr.Dravid he is the one who always plas dot balls in an ODI AND BRINGS PRESSUE ON MIDDLE ORDER BATSMEN, then Mr.Tendulkar who should have at least thought of winning the game and his responsibilities, he knew that at least he should stay on wicket till the game is over he also played very carellesslesly, fifth Dhoni who knows only to walk on ramps in fashion shows but did not learn from Bangladesh, he wants to flick the ball which is perfectly bowled on middle stump that was wrong play, sixth Virender Sehwag who should have taken the responsibility of staying over the wicket till they score or reach a mark of 200 score but he did not bother also, then Agarkar without any reason he also played uppishly instead of scoring singles and so on and the rest of the tail enders did only giving up the wickets at regular intervals. So, no body has relied on singles and doubles and infact even yuvraj also actually it wasnt a ru at all .So it is the mistake of entire team and more particularly it is Dravid who should have sent information at every stage of Game to the opening players but he did not.

Team India - What happened wrong
by Tony on Mar 28, 2007 04:34 PM  Permalink

I think judging the pitches and not giving the chances to the players like Sreesanth, Dinesh Kartik was blunder committed by team management. Dravid was not able to think in right direction and taken wrong decision again and again.

Neverthless, He might learned some lessons from this event and will do better in future.

India wrongly read the pitches
by vinod gulwani on Mar 28, 2007 04:30 PM  Permalink

The pitches in Windies were best suited for players like Dravid and Kartik(who did not play in all 3).What indian batsmen needed to do was stay at the wicket in the initial overs and score not in boundaries but ones n twos and later players like Dhoni n Yuvi could have accelerated in the last 10 overs. But the Indian spectators are used to slam bang in the first 15 to 20 overs. Hence what sells with Indian spectators was sold by the players or rather they tried to play to the gallery.Dravid could have batted one down against Sri lanka but due to pressure from the public here he did not have the guts to change the batting order. He batted at 5 and had to bat with the tail. So no. 5 is not the place for him.

by sanjeev mulchandani on Mar 28, 2007 04:28 PM  Permalink

hey... dont worry... what if india is out of wc.at times we fail in life to achieve something... it happens... who so ever win- shall have passion & strong desire along with req skill set to win... so if we lose or india lose it is only we as an individual or india as a team wud be lacking in either of three- passion, desire&skills. what if 100 crore people want india to win.... win will only come if team 16 1 wants to achieve it.... chill

toss
by jerald on Mar 28, 2007 02:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

They would have easily won if batted first after winning the toss. India can never win under pressure because, ultimately we are Indians.

Indias failure
by Krishnan Unni on Mar 28, 2007 01:50 PM  Permalink

No strategy at all. There is a huge difference between off field and on field strategy making. Dravid may b a good cricketer but his strategy making is poor. He is cool mwhen the team is in a good position but he just stands there when the match is not in his hands. We need a captain who has capability for more player-captain contact.
