SELECTION POLICY INDIA
by shivakumar chinnari on Mar 31, 2007 11:27 PM  Permalink

MY OPENION IS BCCI SHOULD CONCENTERATE ON ROOTLEVEL OF CEICKET BY PICKING QUALITY CRICKETERS,BCCI IS HAVING LOAT OF MONEY BUT INVESTING ON ROOT LEVEL WILL FETCH QUALITY PLAYERS.IN INDIA ROOTLEVEL IS WEEK LOAT OF TALENTED PLAYERS ARE HAXED IN THIS LEVEL.HOW CAN YU GET QUALITY.

RAJI TROPHY SELECTION BASE SHOULD BE CHANGES,LOAT OF SENIOR/RETIRED PLAYERS ARE TILL PLAYING RAJI.YOUNG STERS SHOULDD BE GINEN LOAT OF INTEREST IN RANJI IT SELF THEN ONLY TEAM INDIA WILL HAVE FITING PLAYERS.

NO DOUT CHAPPEL TRIED HIS EFFORT TO CONCENTERATE ON YOUNG PLAYERS BUT HIS WAY IS NOT CLEARED BY BCCI.STOP POLITICS IN SELECTION,

IN THIS WORLD CUP I SEEN NO PLAYERS IS UP TO THE MARK THE WILL TO PLAY FOR COUNTRY IS NOT SEEN.JUST THEY WANT TO SAVE THEIR PLACE IN TEAM.

I THINK IN TEAMPLAYERS IT SELF THERE IS LOAT OF POLITICS.THEN HOW CAN YU WIN MATCHES.

Who is responsible?
by Ramani Venkatraman on Mar 31, 2007 10:37 PM  Permalink

Starting from selection committee, coach, players and finally the fans are all responsible. Selection committee, for sticking to historical data and not the basics of the demands of the situation; coach not imparting the killer instinct and committment we see in his national team - it was the minimum expected of the coach in which definitely he failed; players not showing the committment or the mental toughness which was demanded in this kind of high class tournaments; and finally, we the fans, who were partly responsible for overrating our players and their capablities and not diversifying our passion to the other games to the extent we do for cricket. As I wrote in one of these message boards just after the team combination was announced, the debacle has ushered in a sense of introspection, which I am sure will yield positive results as I guess we have reached the nadir in cricket at this point of time.

who is responsible
by muthyala sudhakar on Mar 31, 2007 10:01 PM  Permalink

Every Indian because before worl cup start,we made them(our players) heroes, lions, tigers etc, these words are enough get to get over confidence and proud to loose game...... so i feel we should treat any movie star or cricker as normal human beings only not something else, and finally blame them for loosing the game..so we should blame ourselves not coach or players or captain, after we quit out from world cup then only people start asking questioning BCCI , why can't we ask to take talented boys in to the game, always plays dirty politics.......... and i am still in doubt why didn't they include Pathan and Nishanth against sreelanka , so these are all things just dirty politics, nobody is worried about nation pride, everybody is selfish wether players or who ever, how can we expect players to play because they earning enough money from adds itself and we r provoking toooooo, so obviosuly huma being become lazy and nobody asks if somebody failed to play in game , always we blame sachin or sehwag, and drop for 2 matches (they say rest)thats all BCCI can do..... and can we just imagine 34-36 years having 2-3 kids can run along with ball or can dive on ground, so there is age for doing certain things, so i feel BCCI should look for young talented guys, if they could consider all indian are equal, they will get good indian street cricketers more than 11, so guys don't be too excite about anything, just watch analyse it forget, don't blame anybody .......

bye

india's poor performance in wc
by manoj kumar on Mar 31, 2007 09:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

i think the staregy used by greg chappel was compltely wrong...... irfan pathan should have given a chance... and i think the captain should be removed and yuvaraj should be given a chance to captain india as he is young and if he is succesfull then he can be retained as captain of india for long time

what yuvaraj? he thinks himself of a super hero. at crunch situations he does not perform.why not choose fellows from ranji teams and make one of them as captain? greame smith was unknown when he was made captain of SA.

Jani, Yeah hain India

My personal opinion does not matter. But I think the attitude of we all Indians are responsible. We are very prompt to give verdict. In last 10 years, have we seen any whitewash like 5-0 both in Tests or One-days. Even with teams like Bangladesh or Zimbabwe? Why? We get complacent so easily. We were complacent against Bangladesh and paid the price. I know we all will forget this the next time India play a good series and I have objection right here. Why do we get carried away so easily both in temporary success and failure? Why not we have the mentality to give 100% every time we play, everything we do. Look at Australia, they are satisfied though they are winning everything.
Moreover, how comes a corrupted politician like Sharad Pawar becomes the BCCI President? The agriculture ministry's performance is the worst, farmers are committing suicide and he does not pay attention to those and on top of it wants to be ICC president. He is completely incapable to do justice anywhere and any post he holds and in his regime we will see more failures But we Indian will not learn. Next time in election atleast let us defeat him to show that we have learnt.
We need to be much process oriented and any one who does not adhere to that and not commited throw that bugger out and then only we will succeed in future.

Indian world cup Devacle
by Varadarajan Srinivas Rangachar on Mar 31, 2007 08:44 PM  Permalink

After reading Greg Chapple's comments IT is very glaring that in our COUNTRY we do NOT give credit to the merits & Talents but to political will. Selector says BADLUCK - may be his intrepretation for success is 1% EFFORT & 99% LUCK. Vengsarkar whwre is your GUTS ? Come out strongly with conviction on what is the real picture ? The country atleast EXPECTS that much from YOU.
