I can't believe they eliminated you - this is the first episode of Gateway that I watched and was super impressed with your short. I have no idea how anyone in the film industry could have preferred "Soap" to "Devakis baby". The other two contestants seemed more professional than the panel of judges, but that's life I suppose. The downside of your film was that it wasn't the sort of thing that would get the box office running in India - I think Nambiars film was closer to that than yours. Come to think of it, maybe that's why they chose him over you.

filmmaking is very subjective.. same as how two people behave differently to a single situation. so, the idea is to keep doing what you think is right unless the other agrees or disagrees
